I was so sick of my bra straps sliding off my shoulders & not finding a bra that didn't. I finally decided how I was going to fix it. I bought elastic (I think it was 5/16"). I used about a 10 1/2" piece (it will depend on the width of your back from strap to strap) make it slightly shorter so that it lays smooth across your back.. Slip one end of the elastic through the O ring where the upper part of the strap attaches to the adjustable part of your strap, sew in place. Then attach the other end to the other O ring on the opposite strap. Presto! You will no longer have sliding straps. I am in the process of doing this to all my bras, and have not had a slipping strap since. It is easy to put on as you slip the bra over your head first & then put your arms in the straps. I wish I had thought of this years ago. Cost, about 25 cents!

This thread is a keeper! It has mystery and intrigue, almost a "whodunnit ". "Only The Shadow knows..." Heehee. Of course, the outcome was the best part, and what a huge relief that had to be. Yay for you! BTW, I recently had a similar experience, where I thought I had a huge scrape, causing a dull spot on my granite, with no clue how it happened. I tried to scrub it off, scrape it with my fingernail, etc. in the hope that it was not scratched, but that horrible spot remained. I showed DH, who agreed that it looked like a bad scrape. I was researching granite repair in my area, and looking at ballpark costs, disappointed this could happen to my nearly "bullet proof" stone. After a few days, the spot seemed to disappear. I have no idea what kind of crud was on there, but whatever it was finally came off. I laughed at myself, imagining someone coming to give me an estimate, realizing that it was some sort of smeared food item superglued to my countertop and thinking, "insert blonde joke here". LOL. I just love a happy ending. :)

Thank you all so much for the VERY good and VERY helpful advice! OK, the spectators are out. I'm pretty paranoid about my green turquoise jewelry and will probably either wear it just to the wedding and have DD hand carry it home again while DH & I head down to Cancun, or wear one of the others. I've been running errands in town - and cleaning for our house & dog sitter all day today, as we leave tomorrow to move DD up to grad school in Colorado Springs. First we need to pack up the big U-Haul truck, DD's car and our Sierra pick-up. Then it's a 5 1/2 hour drive up there. We'll move her in Friday night, all day Saturday, and head home Sunday. So, please forgive me if I don't reply back here again until Monday. I've read every suggestion and am definitely using them to pack for Austin & Cancun starting Monday, so I'll be back then. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. This is going to be a marathon moving event! Oh, and did I mention that her new apartment in on the 3rd (top) floor and there are no elevators? I may make my 10-pound weight loss after all (LOL)!
