Etched Cut Glass/Crystal Bowl
Comments (3)The bowl and the plate are not a "set"...the pattern and the class are not the same. I don't believe that the bowl is "cut glass" it's a bowl with a molded "cut style" pattern embellished with hand cut engravings. I don't know the maker, but 1970 or so would be a good guesstimate as to time period. It's very pretty and I'll bet it's lovely filled with berries. Comments (3)I inherited a drink pitcher from my mother. She got it new during WW2. Its not the same pattern as your bowl, but has the same "feeling" of period design. My pitcher is also unmarked. I believe it was a 'premium'. After you bought a given number of boxes of soap or other comsumable merchandice, you could choose a piece of glassware or a plate. There were very few pleasures during the war, but we enjoyed many a serving of ice tea or cool-aid from it. I'm guessing that you piece may be in the time frame of 1945 - 1952, however, it could be from any time after the begining of molded/pressed glass....See MorePlease help me with Identifying this Crystal Bowl!?
Comments (2)American Brilliant period cut glass....made betweem 1880 and 1920...roughly. Very very nice! The prices on these pieces has gone south a bit....likely now you couldn't get more than $120 for it, but 25 years ago they were selling for twice that if they were perfect. Sorry I can't tell you the pattern nor the maker without a lot of research. Is there a signature on it anywhere? Maybe etched in the bottom, But perhaps near the rim? Those pieces were made of high lead content glass, then the basic bowl was polished and hand cut using a diamond wheel. Very expensive to make. Rings like a bell when you flick it with a fingernail!! Some of the makers wre Libby and Hawkes. You have a treasure! Linda C Here is a link that might be useful: bowl....See MoreDrum, Bowl, Chandelier? Help please. (Picture Heavy)
Comments (25)brensproject, if u can find a store near u that carries Hubbardton, they have all finishes that u can see in person. even if it says that fixture doesn't come in that finish, they can do it as a special order. i had the lighting store call and if was only $40.00 more. not bad for "special order" but their fixtures are not cheap to begin with. so your best bet is to see the finishes in person and then decide. you can also see the different globes and they have quite a few. i felt it made a difference for me to see finishes in person then just online. i also wanted to see the quality of the product which is hard to do online.
