Hi, I just found this site while browsing around GW. I am usually on the Home Decorating forum here at GW. I've already found wonderful ideas just from reading the first page of T2T! As for Large bowls/Platters---if you garden, you can drill a small drainage hole in the bottom, glue a terra cotta plant saucer to an upside down candle holder and then put the bowl with plants on top. I just finished doing this with some Found & GoodWill candle holders. I have some larger mis-matched serving bowls and platters and I've run out of space inside so had to find a way to use them outside. Once painted, I'll place some of the drilled serving bowls on top of the clay saucers and fill them with pretty colored plants. A grouping of pretty mis-matched bowls with plants---just an idea. I haven't gotten around to painting mine yet but here's an example that might help you with your serving bowls. ------------------ These are clay saucers glued to the top of 'pillars' I had stored in the garage rafters. These are the Free and Goodwill candle stands, saucers glued on top.

Below is a link to a good thread about vertical storage, in which I link to the dividers I purchased. We found that you will need to cut these so why not build what you need in the first place? They're not inexpensive and as we retro fitted multiple cabinets, it wasn't long before DH was creating required parts. Hlove, what a fun kitchen! I stumbled upon this fine china bowl by Rosenthal, Germany, on CL, but could not identify the pattern. No matches on Replacements.com and Ebay, and Google Image search yielded nothing. No information on its age either. The bowl is about 8" wide and 10"long. The backstamp shows only the manufacturer's name and location (Bavaria), but nothing more. Any GWers familiar with this pattern by Rosenthal?

Last year I shopped for vintage china and researched old fine china brands a lot. Here's what I've learned: - Rosenthal manufactured lots of blanks and many of them were exported to the U.S. before WWII. Hutschenreuther produced blanks too; - The blanks were purchased and decorated by other fine china manufacturers, artist workshops and hobbyists. For example, Pickard, a high end porcelain manufacturer in the U.S., decorated blanks shipped from Europe in the 1920's-1930's. It was common to combine blanks from different manufacturers in a single set of china; - In your case it appears that Rosenthal and Hutschenreuther manufactured the blanks, and Max Steiner Studios most likely was the decorator. - Donatello was one of the most popular shapes of Rosenthal's blanks. Are you sure the pieces backstamped Hutschenreuther have the "Donatello" mark too?
