Rojo Alicante or Dark Emperador
Comments (11)We stumbled across Rojo vanities in Lee Lighting in Arlington, Texas. We were able to see them installed. One fabricator told me that I was a little crazy to want Rojo in the bathroom, as it is extremely delicate. He said it is softer than other marbles and easier to stain as well. I must say that there was some obvious discoloration in both the men's and women's vanities at this lighting store. Mostly around the sink. We asked the sales peole how long the store has been there -- 3 years. That isn't very long! The employee we asked said that the discoloration was from the cleaning lady who used the wrong chemicals on it. She said that she has also ruined some flooring by not using marble/granite specific cleaner. If anyone has any comments to special, extreme care that will be needed, please advise! We are still pursuing this route for the tub deck and the vanity top. Thanks!...See MoreRectified Porcelain, Hard to do? Expensive to lay?

Comments (3)Yes, it will. But be prepared for a stiff installation price, because the installer's going to have to either make absolutely certain the floor is dead flat after burying the wires, or he's going to have to spend alot of time with the tile keeping it flat afterward. This would not be a job for just any installer. Rectified porcelain gets set like stone, and between that and the square edges, it's extremely unforgiving. Walking in bare feet, you can feel as little as 1/64" in height difference from one tile to the next. Problem is you can see it, too. This is something you want to make sure you have someone who really knows what he's doing. Here's a couple of pics of a rectified porcelain front entry:...See MoreRectified porcelain floor tiles
Comments (1)You should always have a grout line...even if it's only an eighth or so. With either white or gray, the line will virtually disappear against your colour choices....See Morebill_vincent
