MX5050 owner here. Chiming in here as it may help current owners or prospective buyers. I bought mine three years ago. The difficulty of leveling the deck and achieving satisfactory cut quality is challenging. The adjusting mechanism is really hard to dial in. I have had the mohawk and unevenness problems. When adjusted, properly, with sharpened blades,...This mower will not produce perfect cuts, but it will produce good to very good. Every 2-3 months it needs tweaks. Here are my tips... Watching videos on youtube from Toros master service guy was a revelation. 1) FIRST you MUST inflate all 4 tires to exactly spec. If mine is off by a few pounds left/right the cut is not as good. 2) If you have replaced any tires, he says you MUST check their circumference with a string or soft tape measure. Or if you have a good bit of wear. 3). This is my blade experience ... The stock mulching blades are crappy soft metal. I replaced them with Gators medium grade mulching. They stay sharp longer and produce a little more lift. I tried the heavy grade Gators but they hurt gas usage and clipped the side walls too easily. Despite this, overall I like the mower a lot. Would I buy it again? Not sure. I would probably try to see if I could demo a Deere to evaluate the cut quality and ease of dialing it in.

The detail about how you can "floor it", or "press the gas to the floor" and keep it going. Does this Yardman actually have a foot operated "gas pedal" that you are pushing to open the throttle on the carb.? Or are you pushing down on the foot control pedal for the transmission, and just calling it "giving it the gas"? Or are you moving the engine throttle adjustment lever on the "dash board" and calling that"giving it the gas? I know I probably sound idiotic "askin' alla these questions"!!!!!!!!!!! But you yourself said this was becoming a challenge, and so we start sifting through the "small details", looking for the big answer. I really want to know: "Flooring it, gassing it", whatever you are doing..........would that action normally increase the ENGINE RPM, or would it make the tractor go faster across the ground, without increasing engine RPM??

Wow! Just came across this thread. We have Marazzi Chateau Reserve hickory grove and same happened with our grout. I chose a grout that would blend in with tile and also chose this tile bc I wanted a very thin grout line. I have tried everything- tile brush , steam mop. Our contractor didn’t care. I will Reread this thread and try some of the options mentioned. Our tile looks great but the grout drives me crazy. It just looks dirty since it’s a lighter color. Makes me angry when I see it bc I would have never picked such a light color. Luckily - it’s only in our master bath. It’s a shame some contractors are so unscrupulous. I know there are honest ones out there, too bad we didn’t hire one .

Central OH. I was raised near Cincinnati - my husband and I moved to San Diego to find work (for him, a carpenter) in late 1979 due to the recession - construction and factory jobs had crashed to a halt. I stayed there after we split; really felt more at home there than I ever had in OH. But, after almost 13 years, the cost of living was becoming a strain and I wanted some family near as well - so back to OH, this time to Columbus, though, and I have found it to be a very pleasant place to live. Lots of parks, cycling and hiking, great live music, very many good and varied restaurants including lots of ethnic (various African, middle eastern, and other-than-Chinese Asian.) All sorts of activity. The past two summers have been hotter and more humid than the first 25, but I still find them tolerable (I like heat) and the winters are still pretty moderate -- the past 2 weeks of erratic weather notwithstanding - I don't mind them at all. Still, I think about trying another part of the country. I would like to go back to the San Diego area but do not think it would be a wise financial move.
