Wren ID?

This morning I saw a wren (I think) that looks like it just stepped out of the bath and is drying off. Carolina Wrens are common here in Plymouth, MA, but this bird seems darker and doesn't have an obvious eye stripe. The breast is much more striped also. I've checked a few references and they say the juvenile Carolina Wren should have a definite eye stripe.

I've also seen or heard Marsh Wrens here (there's a marsh down the street), but the references show unmarked breast feathers.

Is this just a molting issue? or is it not a wren at all?

Thanks,

Claire
