Since I am new to gardening and have only put in one small flower bed, I can't say my DH has complained alot. Although, he was none too happy when he had to help dig and add in shale and compost...even though it only took him about 30minutes... When I first decided to make gardening my new hobby, I think he kind of laughed it off. But now, I'm always looking at websites for flowers, gardening magazines, this website everynight, he asks if this is payback for me having to hear about flyfishing all the time! LOL Now that our flowerbed is growing and I have a ton of potted plants, he is warming up to the idea and asked when I was going to do something to the side of the house!!! Gotta love it! I said, "Show me the money!" LOL

My house and Purple Martin colony were on the Air Force Base. The housing unit (human) is sitting empty. In their wisdom, the housing department is having it torn down. It was built in 1952 and the quality was wonderful. It did have some cosmetic issues that would have been easily fixed. When we left, we had to remove all our personal belongings. Had I left the gourd rack, it would have been destroyed by the roving herds of kids. It was far to expensive to leave to that fate, so we dug new hole, set a new support, and put it up here in Larimore. I hope we both get flocks of PMs!

The recurring theme here is that people call the non-emergency line and then are surprised when the fire department shows up with all their trucks anyway. But there is a good reason for this: People are frequently embarrassed to call the fire department and tend to minimize the problem when reporting it ("Oh, it's just a small fire on my stove that I can't quite get to go out; no real problem other than I can't breath right now"). By the time the fire truck rolls in a few minutes later, it turns out this was in fact a real problem and needed all the gear and tools that the firefighters have access to on their trucks. If the caller only reports the smell of smoke, it's quite possible there is nothing much to worry about. There also is the possibility that the moment somebody investigates and opens the door to where the fire has been smoldering for hours, air rushes in an a major fire starts within seconds. At that point, you really don't want to wait another 10 minutes for the trucks to roll in. You need them right then and there. I don't know about all jurisdictions. But in most cases that I am familiar with, the fire department will happily come out to you and investigate, even if it turns out to be "nothing". And you shouldn't get charged for it. But there always could be exceptions. Also, if they subsequently call an ambulance, that's when you might see charges.

Here are 4 of the colors we have talked about in above comments..marscapone can give off the slightest tint of green...Dove Wing is a beautiful neutral white you can’t go wrong using it any space....Pale Oak is one of my favs it is still light but gives a soft warm glow..allows trim to contrast.
