I am occasionally tormented by "Happy Talk" from South Pacific. And since seeing my friends' new show which includes two tunes from Fiorello, the chrous from "Little Tin Box" now alternates inside my head with "Happy Talk." Gah, make it stop!!!!!! Schoolhouse, I don't exactly know what a butter tart is, but going by just the name, they must be delicious. We've had a neighbor drop off her homemade chocolate covered toffee, and another a loaf of banana-nut bread. Both are very tasty indeed. Your dogs must have been a hoot. I can just see them in my mind. Patti, a three day case of CL sounds a lot like a bad migraine, except you can still function and there's no medication for it. (I suppose self-medication is always an option.) Mary Lu, your weather sounds like our weather, though maybe colder. The ski hill owners are loving it, though. It's good to hear from you. Eduarda, it sounds like your house is still infested with masons and other assorted workers. Isn't there some kind of spray for that? Thank you for mentioning James Taylor's album. Golden gate park and the San Francisco clubs were the norm of my youth. I'm stuck in the 50's,and 60's and early 70's too. I have always listened to country. When my friends were into the Beatles in the 7th grade I was listening to Sonny James. LOL

When Paint Your Wagon came out, I was dating the cute boy next door. One of the characters in the movie was named Sylvester Newell. My boyfriend's last name was Newell. It felt like karma so I married him (over 34 years ago). :-) My step-father looked just like Lee Marvin and constantly walked around the house singing "I was born under a wandering star" over and over again. If you heard his horrible voice, PYW would be burned into the trauma center of your brain for eternity too. LOL I do remember what a dud the movie was! We saw it at a Century theater, a "high-end" theater that charged a fortune (~$4.50) and gave out special booklets made especially for the movie. I still have it, along with Romeo & Juliet, Funny Girl and Hello Dolly. I wonder what kind of collector's item those would be. Jodi-
