Perhaps you could put up a second house somewhere near just like the first and give them an alternative. I've had good luck with this when I get birds battling over a box. Of course that's a slippery slope and why I have so many bird houses. Maybe you shouldn't listen to me.

Do what you can for the bird, but as Elly says without antibiotics cat bites kill even if it isin't a fatal wound. It's nest would be in a cavity filled with sticks. I am sure I will get yelled at for this, but House Wrens are very distructive to other cavity nesting song birds often tossing out and killing babies. This includes Blue Birds, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Titmice... well you get the picture. I only tell you this so you wont feel so bad if the bird does not make it. For now the best thing to do is find a rehabber. Good Luck

Hi Konrad, Kinda sad to lose your RBNH nest... but this is nature at work I guess. Yes, we lost 1 bluebird egg to a HOWR 2 seasons ago. We saw him fly to and into the nest box, and come out with the pierced egg still impaled on his beak! We were waving our arms and shouting at him, as he dropped it on the ground and flew off. It all happened in 30 seconds or less. We discouraged him with a squirt gun for days and the parent blues dived bombed him mercilessly whenever he came near. He finally stopped coming around, and I'm happy to say the other 3 eggs hatched and fledged successfully. I think it would be fine to turn back around to where you want it. I think the wrens would adjust to the new location. Wouldn't it be back in the position that they were used to anyhow?
