Injured House Wren

Hi,

I found a House wren (appears adult) that was just caught by a cat. Got it away

quickly, but initially while in shock, i found no obvious broken bones, but did find some

blood on mid wing, around left eye , no other chest/abdomen punctures. I put it in a small aquarium with pine shavings, water, bird seed and a few crickets as they are insectivores. It seems to want to sit on water dish in cool corner of cage, so have in shade, temp. is 78 room temp. After about an hour, now sitting up on feet and chirping. My thinking is leaving it to rest, hopefully eat and release if looking stronger soon, as i do not know locale of nest and i am hesitant to just leave outside. It cannot fly well, i tried earlier, just a few flutters and plops down on ground, but wings are moving symmetric and ?limp on a leg, but no obvious deformities on intial inspection. I am in vernon, ct (tried emailing the rehabber listed but email returned

thanks

dan
