This ID is driving me nuts

First off I have no picture yet. Maybe tomorrow. Anyway we live on the edge of some woods and have a pretty comprehensive feeder set up a half dozen feet away. Over the past three years I've seen this plump little bird maybe a little smaller than a robin feeding in and around the egde of the forest. He's never gone to the feeder. Only around the ground. He has a white breast with distinct specles (like a thrush)and rusty wings back and head. Also fairly distinct white eye ring and no detail on his head. This is where I lost the thrush idea as all the thrushes in my field guide have distinct detail at eye level and below. It is definitely not an imature robin. It is also definitely not a thrasher as it does not have the long beak and yellow eye. Unless someone has an immediate offering here I guess we'll just have to see if I can manage a picture tomorrow to post.

Rachel help me!
