I live in Portland and I just don't get it. I find the floor plan confusing.

I find myself wanting to make a positive comment due to all of the negative ones. In this day and age of pop up boxes that become faceless condos and apartments it's refreshing to see someone do something so daring as this, especially to mix two design styles that often feel so different (to me at least). And I have to wonder how those people that so strongly hate it would have preferred a condo? Or a neighbor that allowed the original house to fall into disrepair?

I would happily live next door to such an interesting house, and while if I were to do something like this to my own home I'd probably do it a little differently, I have to compliment the home owner for the execution.

Now if only my next door neighbor would perform basic maintenance on his house...

I'm late to the party here, but wanted to comment on the ladder to the rooftop deck. If this were my house, I know I would want to sit up on the deck and have a couple of cocktails while taking in the view. I seriously don't know if I could get back down the ladder without killing myself!
Otherwise, I really like this house!
