Carolina Wrens

For the fourth year, Carlolina Wrens nested in the shelf I placed beneath the deck. I took a series of images after the eggs were laid and noted that the female was sitting on her eggs. However, nearby her in the nest was another little mound. I noticed that the "little mound" had moved. It was the male sharing the nest, maybe protecting the female. Then I noticed what appeared to be the head of some type of lizard. That was not moving and apparently dead.

This morning one of them was gathering bugs from the top of the deck. The other one was on a deck railing singing.
