Bohemian waxwings by the hundreds

This morning I took my daily walk around my neighbourhood and I was treated to a spectacular sight. Hundreds of Bohemian waxwings converged on the fruit trees in the neighbourhood. I was walking in the back lanes and as I stood and watched, hundreds swarmed around my head, flying back and forth between the fruit trees, devouring the berries in matter of minutes. I stood there in awe for about a half hour. I then ran home and got my camera and video camera and attempted to capture them on film. However, my little camera didn't do them justice. It was amazing. They stayed probably for about 1 1/2 hours and then they slowly started to fly away in small groups. I have never seen anything like that before and if I hadn't gone for my walk when I did, I would have missed it. They are such a beautiful bird. It was an amazing sight.
