Beautiful pictures. They look so serious.

Nice pics! They are beautiful birds, but they look just like Cedar Waxwings to me?? Can someone please explain the difference in these birds.

What kind of tree is that? Did it have some kind of berries they were attracted to?

Bohemian are the larger ones. Where I live in Alberta the Cedar waxwings are here only in the summer. Bohemians move further north in the summer but come down in the winter.

Beautiful pictures and waxwings are probably my favorite bird.

However, these appear to be Cedar waxwings, not Bohemian. Yes, Bohemian are larger, but they also swould have two white patches on their wings and a russet patch under their tail. The Cedar do not have the white wing patches and htey are white under the tail.

Thanks for the clarification...I was told last year when they visited they were bohemian so this year when they arrived I figured they were the same. Sorry about any confusion.

Cedar Waxwings are just as welcome as Bohemians -- thanks for the views of terrific birds!

I really like the one hovering in the top shot - have you tried zooming in on that to see how it looks blown up?

A picture of a BWW at my place

I love waxwings. Last month I had a large flock of cedar waxwings move through for a few days. I counted 52 sitting in the branches of two trees in my neighbors backyard. It was stunning.
