I inadvertently posted this message on the Hummingbird Forum, so please go there to read it. Dumb question...is there a way to post one message on two forums without re-typing?

We're bracing for the snow here in eastern central Jersey. Snow is suppose to start tonight through tomorrow, could get 8-12 inches, but we'll see. I made sure I filled all the bird feeders.

Debi, I wouldn't try to duplicate CN's mix - she uses a lot of bark, pumice, and I've even seen some leeca stones in her mix. I'm sure it's great for Hawaiian conditions, but wouldn't work so well here unless you like to water yours almost daily. A lot of people do use the orchid bark in with soil, which I'm sure works fine, but I still find that dries out a bit fast for my taste. Since I've grown so many succulents over the years, I prefer a mix that holds water longer because I've gotten used to watering rather infrequently... Brad, in my experiece, 'Pink Silver' is a slow-to-bloom cultivar, but I absolutely love it for the gorgeous foliage... All the pubicalyx cultivars are fast growers, and the rest seem to be more generous with blooms. I got my 'RHP' as a cutting in the summer of '06 and it's gotten so big, I had to move it up to an 8" pot this year. They're probably the best ones to start with because they grow so vigorously. I am about 30 miles southeast of Baton Rouge, bleak here today also. I have tons of daylilies breaking the soil and new growth on all of the evergreen daylilies. My Carolina Jasmine is loaded with buds and the Snowdrops are up, but no buds yet. The Wisteria and Bridal Wreath are starting to bud up, as is the fig tree. I lost one big Loquat tree, but is was a bit down in the dumps before the big freeze. All of the rose bushes have new growth, except for 2, which I think also were victims of the big freeze. I am hoping the Crinums and Amaryllis come back, the bulbs feel firm, but I see not new growth since the freeze. Sharon

You are right, it is an awfully tight spot. I am not sure why it was planted there except maybe they thought it would be "bushy" on top and stay bushy under the roof edge. It is not my favorite location. I do not know how long it has been there but I know it has been at least 5 years since I moved in and it was there then. The roots of the shrubbery in general are just knots so i doubt it would transplant well if I was able to "cut" it out of that location. That green tie is a rubbery plastic tie that keeps the top heavy shrub from almost laying down on top of the hollies below.

My husband brought home this TV (free), it turns on, the menus work, I've tried S video input, cable, and red, white, yellow cable, nothing but snow. I did check the input via the menu tried the cable and auto selections, still nothing but snow. Any ideas?
