Soldat I agree with Deb, try some tea roses. An old friend from your area had spectacular luck with the Bermuda mystery roses. I seem to remember, Miss Atwell, Spice, Slater's Crimson China, Safrano, Archduke Charles, Souvenir de Therese Lovet,Mrs. B.R. Cant, Mrs. Dudley Cross, Brightside Cream, Maitland White and Vincent Godsiff. I know she never sprayed, didn't do too much of anything and some of these guys were house eaters. As for me, I don't repeat roses either but the ones that tempt me are Evelyn, ( I know but she does all right for me) Gruss en Coberg, a fine big strapping girl with those gorgeous peach colored blooms, Sutter's Gold--the scent of fresh nectarines is too die for. R'eve d'Or is the finest climber. Crimson Glory and Oklahoma are the best of the smelly reds but Souv. Claudius Denoyal is an amazing red tea with a big smelly scent that I love and no trouble whatsoever. I know I'd get Gertrude Jeykyll if I ever lost her. That scent must be kept and the special order of Grace de Monaco from Vintage is one I ordered the other day because she was just so lovely in the sunshine and impossibly fragrant. Vicki.. are you staying in the area or moving somewhere that gets rain? I did similar things when I sold my house. Even after the people signed the contract I was out there mulching and pulling weeds. It's about 6pm. I guess mothernature read this post. She hasn't teased me today. She didn't give me any rain but she didn't tease me. Pam3... LOL that was funny about the mailbox. Buford... That's a ways from here I think. I'm not really sure. I felt a couple of drops yesterday but no rain. I just watched as the drops evaporated on the deck before the next one was felt. That made it especially painful when nothing happened after that. bumblebeez... I have tried that and still nada. foxesearth... If it were to pour right now, I believe a good amount of rain will get into the soil. I have been keeping it moist as best I can so the water seeps in and doesn't run off. What you use is a very good strategy though. Well it's about that time... Time to go water.

I,now have the same starting from seed/to many plants problem,I have 96+ plants 15 needed.. In the past I never had any luck starting from seed through the sticking them in the ground phase. This year I finally figured it out,by putting a thermometer by the seedling trays. My heating pad was to hot as it was averaging 95-100 degrees. I elevated the seedling trays an inch above the the pad and the temperature settled into the 80-85 degree range. As soon as they sprouted I placed them under a light and removed them from the heated pad. The second major problem that I was aware of,and knew it, was overwatering the seedlings. I knew I was overwatering but couldnt resist giving them a drink as I checked them out. This year I only go into the upstairs room once a day and there is no water in the room to tempt me. Now the only problem I have is getting rid of the plants I don't need. I offered them on the GW/PNW forum to folks in the Tacoma area but no takers. Feast or Famine is the story of my life. Jim

Hi k, My only reservations with the Mannington Traditional Collection is it is a direct pressure laminate versus high pressure(high pressure will *usually* hold up better) and it states they use a teflon finish, which I honestly have never heard of for a laminate. Most laminates have a aluminum oxide finish. That being said, Mannington is a well known company and I don't believe it would be an inferior product. My personal favorite brand is Wilsonart. They would be worth giving a look at. I have read several good reviews about ifloors.com and fastfloors.com (I believe on this forum?). I have not personally purchased from either, so this is going by online reviews only. I hope this helps a little. I'm not sure about #2 as my husband does all the cutting, hopefully someone else can chime in on that. Good luck!
