lack of morning sunlight

gardenlaw

I have a couple of tomato plants that aren't doing nearly as well as my others... It occurred to me that It might be the huge bush that my mom has growing just a few feet east of the plants. The tomatoes will get full sun after about noon, but not much in the morning. Is that probably the reason that they are so weak? I am surprised really, because they get so much sunlight in the afternoon that I would expect them to catch up. (They are about 1/3 the development of my better tomatoes, which themselves look about 1/3 the size of my neighbor's)

I have applied fertilizer and tried my best to keep the soil in good shape, but by no means am I a master gardener. This is only my second year working with a garden. Last year my tomatoes were huge. And this year we got a lot of cold wet weather early in the season.

thanks any help
