Very pretty scuba :). Do you know the variety? I have one that I just took a picture of this morning called Charlime that looks a little like that but I think it's (the Charlime) less ruffled.

I'm waiting for Marcia Faye to open up a little wider, then I will post the pics on the gallery :). Check 'em out a little later :).

Fun in the sun is the name that it was tagged when I got it in Sept at the Botanical Gardens Iris and Daylily sale - I just love going to that event and it always falls on my Birthday weekend - so I have a good excuss to spend the money -lol

I was just telling my DH about your water aerobics, Glenda, and was thinking that when we move to Stratford, maybe I could do something like that. I had such fun exercising in the pool while in Costa Rica. I'd love to do more. I think I'm going to look into it. Laurel

To me, it smelled like papaya with a hint of spice - a very nice strong fragrance. I believe Ben and Nick also tried this new rose out and so hopefully they’ll share their opinion as well. I was disappointed that it did not look like the picture in Edmunds catalog. Still nice but unique- a blend of yellow and oranges that transforms into a vivid strawberry watermelon pink. Kind of like an early sunburn - the name is fitting ;) Also, it didn’t have very good resistance to BS in its first year.

My Fun in the Sun rose (planted bareroot this year) is on its second flush -- just as good as the first flush -- super healthy - gorgeous flowers - lovely fragrance. LOVE IT. I looked it up on helpmefind and read this -- which I don't understand -- "The new rose may be distinguished from its seed parent, a non-disseminated seedling of my creation by the following combination of characteristics: whereas `WEKpupmobalip` bears very double flowers (about 54 to 146 petals) of gold suffused with pink coloration, the non-disseminated seedling bears double flowers of soft orange coloration with significantly lesser petalage (about 24 to 28 petals). The new variety bears flowers with a strong fruity and spices fragrance, whereas the seed parent bears flowers with a light tea fragrance. The new variety may be distinguished from its pollen parent, `WEKjucistwe` by the following combination of characteristics: whereas `WEKpupmobalip` bears medium to large sized flowers (about 8.3 to about 10.7 cm. in diameter) of gold suffused with pink coloration, `WEKjucistwe` bears significantly smaller flowers (about 7.0 to about 9.0 cm. in diameter) of yellow blushing pink coloration. The new variety bears very double flowers (about 54 to 146 petals), whereas the pollen parent bears flowers with significantly lesser petalage (about 45 to 65 petals)."

DOH!!! What a maroon I am, snork! LOL, it didn't even occur to me that the subject line was the name. It's very pretty and it is quite a bit more ruffled than my Charlime. I didn't make the sale last year, but I am always interested in pretty daylilies. I like the *plant and forget* things that always perform.....gotta love 'em!

Angie, that's so pretty.

I always forget to go to the Iris and Daylily sale.

Maybe if you post it on the club site a few weeks ahead of time our garden club could go together.

That would be lots of fun - my brother's in-laws (who might as well be my in-laws) belong to the iris society and do shows and the sale. I love both iris and daylily - so I'm right in hog heaven.
I will certainly post it when the time comes!

OOOOO, I love the color and ruffles too. I must go again this fall for the sale. None of my daylilies have ruffles.

This year the Sale is Saturday September 22....my bday is the 23rd, last year it was on my bday -but that is how I keep track of it.
When this guy gets big enought I will gladly split him and share...I bought one other called Peppermint Frosting - still waiting for her to bloom. I usually add about 2 a year (that I buy) cuz I'm a cheap-o when it comes to plants and they are kinda high. (IMHO)

I really like he ruffled daylilly's and yours is such a pretty yellow.

I got 1 of Carols SB candy daylilly's. I hope I recognize it when it blooms! My daylilly's are all planted thru out a bed and they're all named specimens, but I don't remember what's who or who's what! They're just all pretty.

Bev - I love yellow, I try not to buy everything in that color, but it is what always catches my eyes. I'm a little obsessive and I have plant markers on mine to keep them all organized.
