It;s getting COLD, what now?

I worry a little what I'm going to do with my worms in about a month as I have no way to get them indoors for the winter. I hate to have to start over in the spring but I might have to. I may start a small bin under the kitchen sink just to keep a few alive. I can't dig a big hole in the back yard to bury these guys so do you think if I surround the bin with straw or bagged leaves they have a chance? The bin is wooden and it's about 2x3x2, it has little feet on it so it's not sitting right on the ground. I live in upstate NY and we do get some below zero weather and long extended winter weather.

Got any ideas?

Thanks,

Vicky~
