Where Did You Buy Your Worms?

I recently purchase a COW system and need to purchase my worms.

I would greatly appreciate your feedback on any good online suppliers.

I bought mine on eBay. First I bought two pounds for $35 including shipping. The purchase was so smooth I ended up purchasing another two pounds from them.

Do not buy from someone that weighs the bedding with the worms. If you do, you may get allot less worms than you expect.

I like to buy local when I can, and we did for our recent bath reno. I shopped alone to get an idea of what was out there at a local plumbing supply showroom and a local lighting store. Both very reputable and both where we bought original fixtures for our home. Then I went back to the plumbing house with my GC when it was time to pick out the plumbing fixtures. That didn't take long since I pretty much knew what I wanted. The sales guy had also helped us when we replaced a kitchen faucet and was actually the same guy who helped us when we built our house. For the lighting, it was a little harder, especially for one fixture, so my GC just told me to tell them he was the GC when I placed the order. It was easy. I compared prices to online prices and was pleasantly surprised. So I have supported local business and economy, and if anything goes wrong, I have much easier, if not better overall, recourse for getting a problem solved. And at a slightly better overall price.

Overstock here as well. I went to Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn to do the sit test first, though. It's not the same as sitting in the chairs you're going to buy, but it helps you understand what you want. I wanted simple metal bar stools, but the ones I liked at C&B had the rung too far back and were very uncomfortable for my legs. So I ordered similar ones from Overstock with a good rung configuration, and they're very comfortable. The welding looks like it was done by a kindergartener, but oh well...

While I live in a good size city, I am not near any of the 12 Miele Centers. I do have several appliance stores near me that carry Miele, however, and I've never had any problem having my Gaggenau or SubZero serviced, so I'd be surprised if I could not find a Miele service technician. The problem is that all the stores that sell the Miele laundry machines do not carry the Little Giant in store. They can order it for me. But I cannot see it in person. I called all the stores the Miele website claims carry its laundry products. But that list was clearly woefully incorrect, so I thought perhaps someone would have a good idea about how to hunt down a local store I may not have thought of. Or could at least speak to their experience of ordering online. Buttttt if I can't see it in person, I just don't know about if I'll be able to commit to the machine.

I bought mine from Trinity worms as well but didn't have such a good experience. I got some very large worms but I ordered EF's. I emailed them to ask if I got the right worms and got no response. I then called several times but no one picked up. Finally I made a dispute with paypal and paypal denied my claims because as long as I received something they don't care. Very bad experience and I ordered 5 LBS.

I got mine from a local company near me in Sorrento, FL. They have a web site.

They sell the can-o-worms but I built a mini pit similar to the ones they sell plans for. It is really just a plywood box on legs with a cover.
Anyway, I purchased the worms directly from them but they ship worms as well. They also sell a grit additive that is very high in many trace minerals from several volcanic rock sources. (I got some but it seems pricy to make a habit of it.) They sell many other products including castings and worm tea. (I think their worm tea is actually leachate though.)

I am happy with the worms I got from them and they were very friendly with me. It gave me extra confidence to by worms that were being raised locally so I knew that the varietys (three different types of worms) in the package would be adapted to the climate I am in.

You might try contacting him again as he uses other people sometimes to ship for him and he may not know that you got encs instead of efs. Actually I would like to get some encs for the same price as efs because they are usually much higher than efs. You don't want encs that are very big though as they do most of their breeding when they are still small and only live about a year I have read so if they are big they are just "bait"
