Hi all, I've seen a lot of tomato and pepper swaps, and "edibles" swaps here on GW, but I think it will be fun for me to host one focusing on Greens & Salads for St Pats!! I've done a salad swap on GW before, a few years back. Rules: Newbies welcome, but if your email address is blocked, you won't be able to participate in this. Your seeds must arrive by St. Patricks Day (March 17). I won't hold up the swap for late seeds. They must be in a bubble mailer big enough to hold all your seeds, with a little extra room to spare. Please enclose a return address label and also enough return postage to get your seeds back to you... Whatever it costs to send it in, please include that much in the way of stamps so I can send it back. If your package winds up more than .15 short on postage I won't be able to send it back to ya, cause I live on a tight budget! No more than 3 packs of the same kind of seeds, please. Minimum 5 packs, maximum 20 seed packs per person. Seeds should be no older than 2007 unless kept in a refrigerated seed bank. Heirlooms and hybrids are both OK. If hybrid, they need to be commercial, not saved seed because otherwise they may not grow. The seeds should be for things you might use in a salad or its dressing, such as lettuces (NOT Iceberg though please). Purple cabbage, mesclun or "baby greens" mix, arugula, watercress, radishes, salad-dressing herbs like oregano, sage, parsley and marjoram, green onions, garlic and chives also are all good. Also welcome are cooking greens, including Asian greens like tat soi and choi sum, spinach, broccoli raab, kale, turnip greens and mustards, goosefoot, asparagus, etc. In this swap, MILD salad peppers (no hots!) are welcome too, as are cherry tomatoes (no big tomatoes, we want salad-specific bite sized ones.) Edible annual flowers that can be used in a salad like borage, salad burnet, fennel, violet, pansy, calendula, etc are welcome too. (No perennials such as roses!) Please include a list of what you are sending, so I can hopefully avoid sending you too many seeds that are identical to what you sent in. Include a wishlist of the 3 things you'd most like to get. Send packets with at least 10 seeds per pack, more is better but 10 is ok. Seeds must be clearly labeled (variety name, year packaged, and your GW ID so I don't send you your own seeds.) Growing info such as sun/shade is good too, but not required. If we don't get at least 12 participants signed up here by March 7, this swap will not "make". ok, my pkg came in, it's SO AWESOME!!!! i got gloves withe the rubber thingi on the bottom (yay) and they fit a little loose, so i have moving room!! plum trees lily of the valleys-white caladiums sweet williams gee i knew i'd forget, varigated hosta unkown plant but its a beauty black raspberry and if i forgot any, she could tell ya, oh my vic! thank you so very much!! i can't wait till them tree's get taller!! then them kids can play in them like i did when i was little, that would be so fun!! i loved them all!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! i planted yesterday in our slow soft rain we've been having for like 3 day's now. but my flower beds are filling up with water! i hope my seeds don't go down hill!! it says your supposed to dig them up, but i never knew that til later, but i live in zone 5 and mine came back and i don't mulch. YET!!! it's on my list of do's when my beds get their flowers how i want them. LOL yesterday i went creek digging and found a beautiful purplish looking flower almost like a monarda or something and monarchs were all over them, so i brought a few home, i love butterfly's!!i'm taking my gloves next time, i found some wild strawberry's, i love wild stuff!! hey hazel can't wait, you been yammerin on forever about this, so we've been sitting on pins and needles waiting now get on with it!! LOL na, i'm just feeling spunky for a bit today, LOL first time in a while, LOL i just found out we won't be losing out on the rest of our grant afterall!! we can use it in appliances and stuff. cool!! in 3 more years i'm gonna be very picky!! and not choose any fast talking contractor!! Okay..my computer is giving me fits, and won't let me send or reply to email....GGGRrrrr! (which brings up another point, we're losing internet at home on the 5th, and if I don't have a job anymore...I wont' be able to get online...so..if I go MIA, THAT'S what happened....) Anyway...Tracy- I will work on that today. I need to wait until I get to work to put in the computer software stuff, I know the SYSTEM I use, but not the specific programs. :O) ICK! I am out of cream..and I'm having to drink my coffee black!! YIKES!!! Icky icky icky!! I need to skip the cup and just do an IV. 4 hours of off and on sleep are NOT going to work today. Nope.

Bad Hermit, bad Hermit.... First, I need to make an apology - unless my forgetfulness had me forget that I already mentioned this? Karen - I think I forgot to also thank you out here in front of everyone for the OTHER set of chimes as well? I was really struck with them (but I think I forgot to mention them because I got all mucked up in the overflowing emotions - but that's not a bad thing, I really did need a plug-puller to get the bulk of those emotions OUT - but I feel bad that it might have caused my forgetfulness in respect to the others).... Karen also included a lovely earthenware or pottery-type chime (a friend of mine is a sculptress and she'd whoop me if I didn't attempt to define between china, bisque, earthenware, ceramic, pottery, etc.) that is bell-shaped, glazed a nice - how to describe this hue? - a muted purple - not vivid, not bright, but neither is it pastel... almost an earthy yet distinct purple glaze WITH a Dragonfly raised motif on the surface. (the irony here is that awhile back one of my twins got me a dual-glass/one set inside the other - votive/tealight candleholder that is green with dragonflies - on the inside, the outside cup/holder is frosted glass - looks really neat when lit up) Part of my forgetfulness was because the moment I saw this bell-shaped chime - and duly noted what appears to be a brass "hammer" that moves to ring the bell, and is weighted with a grean ceramic leaf suspended from it - I knew instantly that it and the candleholder my daughter got me should go "together", so they both got placed in the "garden tub" (of a trailer/mobile home - not so upscale as my dream garden tub - but I'll get there!) - the candleholder went onto a cedar shelf I have in there and the dragonfly windchime I suspended from a wire "planter" that I've never lined for plants but instead mounted on the wall to suspend my favourite "relaxing" things from and put various bottles holding bath-related "stuff" in.... so each time I kick back for a hot soak (which is frequently with my screwed up back), I get to set the chime in motion and slide down into the hot water and it is suspended in just the right position where I can visually focus on it with ease and relax. I wish I could explain how "perfect" the colours are - and the tone - it's not flashy or glaring and the tone doesn't "demand" from the ears - it's just the perfect meditative piece. A little additional irony is that while I don't think I mentioned it while intro'ing myself or in my other babbling on the ongoing threads for this swap, I do "dig" dragonflies. :) It's pure coincidence that when our first Rottie passed, while I had "just the gazing globe" already ready, the first 'stand' I picked out for it was one with dragonflies and chimes suspended inside it - unfortunately it didn't fit my globe (smaller globe) and never got to be used before I discovered the stand/pedestal was too cheaply made to endure the elements here. So - across the board unconsciously - dragonflies and chimes have also been "tied into" things with the dogs... perhaps because of all the times I used to spend with them down at the creek "chasing" dragonflies of different types trying to get a good zoom/macro "perfect" picture (to no avail - I'm convinced dragonflies are a creature of this world best enjoyed as they come and go and without trying to capture them live or on film - some pix turned out okay, but just never had that brilliance that dragonflies do to the naked eye). You all have to promise me that you won't "close up shoppe" on this thread until photos are posted AND until I get Melissa's second parcel sent to her! I really want you all to see what Karen sent me - and for the same reason Melissa/HNB has not yet received her second box from me - I haven't gotten photos taken. I had been, if you will pardon the phrase, sick as a dog for awhile now. I thought I was getting over it, but I either relapsed or got a new strain or it mutated on me. I get "the crud" every year - I'm usually sick as a dog in bed every Thanksgiving since 1984- there's only been three exceptions 1) the year I had my twins - they were due in October but I had them in September and that year I got sick 2 months earlier than usual 2) the year I had my youngest (who was born just under an hour before it officially became Thanksgiving that year) I got sick in late September thru early October, and 3) the year my beloved Kerridwen passed, I started getting sick in October and had just cleared it mostly by the time she whelped ON Thanksgiving and we lost her just after midnight that night. Sooooo... suffice to say, I'm hoping that getting sick "early" with "the crud" this year isn't a portent of anything (definitely no more childbearing on my part) good or bad and just coincidence that the kids were exposed to medically confirmed stuff from a cousin/family they spent a good bit of time with combined with hubby now being "exposed to the public" with the work he's picked up (yes, he got a job! Once we get caught up it should pay the bills, but his humour is dry when he commented that he worked himself up to six-figures a year all the way back down to almost minimum-wage - mind you, the job he got, is with a man/company that knew him back when HE was in high school and some of his coworkers are from his "old friends/acquaintances" category from back in the day) and after two years of being really-really isolated from the public "germ-pool" he's no doubt bombarded with stuff we haven't had to contend with for a long time. ANYWAY, I haven't been keeping up with the messages or even my own personal email on a regular, much more daily, basis because I really have been "that sick" - like sleeping anywhere from 12, 14, 16, all the way up to 36 hours, not eating (no appetite combined with not being able to REALLY smell food, much more taste anything - it all seems the same and that doesn't do anything for building an appetite, ya know?), off/on fever, and well, I'm sure you all are familiar with one variety of another of "the crud" that just sucks the life-energy right out of you, ya know? My biggest meals have consisted of a half-cup of yellow/saffron rice with a 'jerk sauce' that has scotch bonnet peppers in it (pro-capsicum for anything sinus or bronchial) or crackers with some peanut butter (protein) and apricot preserves dabbed on for flavour, or four cubes (1"x1") of chicken sauteed in butter with tons of garlic (go garlic as a cure-all! well, it works better if you actually have more intake of it... but at least I could taste the garlic). Sad to say, I haven't even had more than a cup of tea over a period of every four days. That "blah". Sleep, sleep, and more sleep seems to be the only thing really helping to combat this strain, strains, or mutation(s) of "the crud" this year - but on the plus side - and not to gross anyone out - at least the mucous involved has remained normal in colour - no sign of infection. Again, ANYWAY, Melissa/HNB - I had every hope of having your second parcel en route to you no later than two days following your birthday, but it just didn't/hasn't turned out that way. I didn't forget your birthday. In fact, it was at the forefront of my thoughts once you told me in email while we corresponded with my other delays for just getting the first one out to you. I do hope that it was a very good day for you on some level. As for grey hairs... don't look for them. :) I saw my first WHITE hairs when I was like 27... for sure anyway, I suspect they were there at 26 but I easily overlooked them as platinum blonde at the time since they cropped up in an area on my head (top/forward but further back that "forelock" or "bangs") that at the time got a lot of sun exposure and areas like that my hair naturally sun-bleached out for the platinum blonde strands/individual hairs to mingle in with the natural mix of other shades in my 'mane'. I didn't cry when I saw them WHITE though. I actually thought it was pretty cool. To-date, I still don't get grey hairs, one by one strands just totally lose all pigment and go stark white. I keep hoping that given where most of them are showing up, maybe I'll get one or two of those really cool streaks where I'll have solid white locks on either side/towards the front and I can flaunt my white. Of course I'm utterly convinced that my white hairs are a direct result of stress... like the stress that comes on because of typical life with having/raising kids :) And the flipside is, for every stark white hair I get in front, I get an equally and totally opposite undeniably BLACK strand from the opposite area of my head (sides but towards the back or from "underneath")... Maybe I'll get to be "salt and pepper" like a Miniature Schnauzer? The only downside to the white strands is that I see a parallel with the "not feminine" whiskers emerging on my chin and the once platinum blonde, fine body hair that was once "normal" and "natural" and "not even noticed", has decided to darken over my upper lip and some of the emerging whiskers on my chin prove to be just as tough as Rottie hairs. Hrmm. Maybe I'll turn into a Rottweiler? :) For what it's worth though Melissa, whether it's a whisker, a darkening of hair where once-feminine begins to resemble a masculine mustache (I haven't yet worked up the nerve to wax it - too afraid it will grow back twice as thick, ten times as dark, and really become a self-consciousness issue for me), or some new stark white strands riddling my mane when I brush it back and put it up in a ponytail - I find I notice several to many more things around me - in the natural world - for each one of those things, that are I never noticed before that really take my breath away. I kinda stopped celebrating my own birthdays a long time back after other people (immediate family namely) pretty much forgot "it was my birthday" and then that got me into the mindset that as a mother, a wife, and a caretaker of animals in need, and plants, and all that... that my own birthdays are "just another day", BUT, I like to wish other people a happy birthday (or belated or early, depending on what all is going on in my own life at any given time) and try to, well, embrace the milestone in life... it is just a day, but at some point or another, I hope that "happy birthday!"s to other people will get them to take pause to maybe see the wonder(s) around them on any other day and perhaps even make it a habit, so that every day is special and from there every moment unique. I figure for most people it either takes really tapping into spirituality (not necessarily religion, but for some they go hand in hand), a taste of mortality or knowing one's number is about up, or simply with age, because it's never too late to start to really (and pardon the cliche) "stop and smell the roses". Space aside HNB/Melissa, the reason I sent you that windchime before the other (commercial) one (the custom one will speak for itself) wasn't so much because of the chimes - because it's sound is limited - but because of the symbolism and I really really hoped that given your colour preferences and that particular chime, you would have the opportunity to see how the mirrors and "beads" (with their different shapes and colours) would catch the (natural) light as we were right on the verge of the Autumnal Equinox (when it was sent) and I hoped that you and your family would be able to enjoy the changing lighting effects of the Sun as relected and refracted as we move into this time of the year... Spring sunlight is nice, but still smacks of Winter, Summer sunlight can be overwhelming - even if we have plants that thrive in it - but the sunlight of Autumn? And those colours... well, I hope you and your family get the chance to enjoy them and they warm your heart and souls. As to the cocoas - I couldn't resist the ones with Bunny Marshmallows! I hunted high and low for a permanent marker/sharpie because I wanted to write Hazel Nut above the "Bunny" much more blatantly. I thought your kids would enjoy those though. I was so totally "stuck" though on others - I personally *adore* the White Chocolate cocoa 99.9% caffeine free, so it's not a cocoa that will wind you up when you're trying to relax and it just feels so smooth in the mouth and going down. I didn't know if you liked DARK chocolate or not though - and I can't remember if I included a "Dark Chocolate Sensation" cocoa for you or not??? If you like Dark Chocolate and I didn't send you at least one of those, please let me know and I'll include one in box #2. I knew you liked coffee - but that doesn't necessitate liking dark chocolate. I tried, to no avail, to find a particular coffee for you that my few coffee-drinkers around here like (we don't get it often, they like coffee but don't drink it on a regular basis) - hopefully I'll find it available before box #2 goes out. The other cocoas - Let me know which ones you like and which ones you don't? BTW, do you like Raspberry/ies or the flavour at all? Was it enough teas? Were some of them totally redundant to what you've already had in the past? I just didn't know! But at the same time I didn't want to send too much or too little... sometimes it takes more than one cup to decide... like whether to have it with sweetener or milk or lemon, hot or cold... OH, and there's another tea that I debated on heavily but ended up not sending, because I didn't know if you had any gall bladder or gall stones? It's an herbal tincture ("tea") that my eldest (who is so totally not into infusions in general - he keeps things on the simple side) SWEARS by as a remedy for his version of "the crud"... but I just wasn't sure if I dared send any or not - I didn't want to make anyone sick or complicate a pre-existing condition since I wasn't copying ingredients for every single infusion/tea... I know this is probably confusing for others here since you're getting "mixed swap boxes"... I did get some "root" plants in there though, even if they weren't bulbs per se. Provided there is room, I do intend to send you some more (for that mostly shade/2 hours-of-sun area) that was talked about in email. If that Purple Obedient Plant doesn't take for you - please let me know and I will do a better dig for you. It's mixed in with a Rice Paper Plant that was one of only six to survive for me - but didn't thrive - so I will be digging that RPP for transplant into a container for the winter anyway and when I do that, I will have better access to the Purple Obedient Plant's rootstock, i.e. being able to get to more substantial rootstock to send to you. Well, it looks like I have written a lot - but "not much" again... so I'm going to get this posted and try to use what wee bit of energy I've got left (wanes as fast as the sun in late afternoon here these days) to try and do a little domestic task I set for myself today.... if I can keep these two new-to-us cats out of my business. Thankfully the female of the two that are residing in our room, her kittens aren't old enough to be out wandering and getting into things yet. The mama-cat is a real lover (and the people told us she was totally NOT a housecat - this mama-cat has excellent indoor/household manners! And green eyes - just noticed that for-sure with good northern light to check by - green, not yellow or gold, but green eyes... cool, thought it was artificial lighting misrepresenting her eye colour before) and the other one... he's, we estimate, coming up on 6 months old and has a penchant for the laptop - he quickly discovered (and is quite proficient) at using the "pad" on the laptop in lieu of a mouse - complete with scrolling up and down... he thinks this laptop I'm borrowing is his personal toy and when not a toy, his bottom-heat spot for sitting or sleeping... well we got her allergie testing done, she did excellent! only cried for a few, if you considered it crying, just tears, when they rolled it acrossed her back, and that was it,she has allergies to molds, dustmites 3 of them, cockroaches wonder if that includes the water bug? we have them from the leak in the bathroom, thats the only place it is and the mold is too, dogs not cats and oak some other stuff i aint heard of and johnson grass which we don't have here in ks! hey guess what?? he fixed it!! LOL :')) is he awesome or what?? tabor put up the ceiling fan in our room, i checked the wiring to make sure it was right but he's awesome too!. and we start homeschooling oct 1. i am anxious!! and now that tracy can't smudge my stuff!! have i got some stuff to say!! LOL just kidding! she's so awesome isn't she! so how is everyone's day gone? i hope fine! staph infection has hit our local schools, just hope my kids don't get that! it's wierd but did you know that our bodies have it on there? we carry it! but it just don't show up till the bacteria gets there or something, the doctor explained it real well, just some people react to it and some don't. all i could think of was jerking my kids out early cuz they still let them kids go while they were contagious. they have 3 different viruses going around out there. makes ya think. hey, i can really blab! not no 512 characters! LOL so no new wind chimes came today eh? hmmm, so sad!!! :'(( nothing here yet!! still looking. i'm wondering if my partner will get her stuff soon! hmmm... which way? above sea level or below sea level? LOL arctic or tropical? LOL she has a surprise from talla. LOL she loves to do the girlie thing, its so cute and funny! i'm so not that way!! LOL i'd forget!! LOL

Finally! I have gotten all of my new plants in the ground! They have been sitting there waiting on my to get my bedonkadonk out there. I am a happy girl! Yippy! I am surprised they aren't all dead from the poor things sitting in their pots for so long. Thank goodness for heavy dew!

Hello Miss Sassers! Glad to see you warmed up that pretty hiney! How are you doing darlin? We missed you! Haven't seen you haunting us in a while. You were in and out so fast last night! I am going to start calling you the Streak! lol! Pixie is out and about shopping today! Woooweee! She told me that she was hitting the garden centers looking for some goodies for her October and Halloweenie exchanges! Gotta love plant shopping, did the same thing the other day and got some great goodies at some awesome discounts. Life is good!

Did everyone see her? I think I did! There she goes! Sheesh! I missed her again! That there is one fast Sasser! Don't get me started on the little girly clothes! Went to The Children's Place a couple weeks ago and loaded up on cutesy pie outfits for the Emma Monster! Too fun! She dove into the bags when I got home and started stripping down! Just call her quick change because she was flying through the new outfits, trying everything on! LOL! She is SUCH A GIRL!

Nahh, we just girlie girls! I never excepted for one moment I would have a boy, and didn't for Julie either, and she wouldn't either, its like we 'willed' it to happen, lol. Now you have to understand, Jerry's side (2nd hubby, 1st was a loser!) has 6 boys, no girls! So yes, we'll be girlie all the way, not letting them turn her into a tomboy, not that there's anything wrong with tomboys! lol

Nope, nothing wrong with Tomboys at all! It is just such a nice change of pace around here with the 4 boys before her! Talk about testosterone! Holy Moly! Jeeze, and I thought I had a lot of boys! 6? Poor MOM! I can't imagine what these guys are going to do to my house when they're teenagers.

Also, I am hoping my partner will receive her package today!! The PO said 3 days, so since it should have posted Wednesday morning, I am hoping today! If not, it better be on Monday!!!

oh my goodness!! you know, all day long i could not get in here! i was like whats up?? i haven't gotten my windchimes yet, i was looking, LOL i've been so busy searching out all the dust i can find, but i've kinda given up on that one, we live on a dirt road, and our house is not air tight. so ya know how that goes!! LOL
we went to the creek today and brought home a bunch of "sea" shells as talla calls them, and tabor caught a baby cat fish with a glass thing of some sort, tiny thing, he was gonna keep it as a pet, but it died. i think the clean water and it didn't set 24 hrs so it killed him. but he took it ok, he wants to get a crawdad as a pet. i said ok. LOL no tears. he installed the last ceiling fan. no reaction from daddy. whats up with that anyway's?? i think thats so cool!! and today talla said here, like she's supposed to! LOL they are gonna check her hearing, just in case. boy she can sure hear candy or gum! :')) when my mom comes in, she made an appointment for me, i think she's gonna have her person do the massage and rock treatment, she loves that. i wonder how awesome it will be. never had a massage, unless ya count little ones jumping up and down and pulverizing ya!! LOL did i tel ya for sure oct 1 we start homeschooling the kids? i'm so anxious, so i probably did. LOL so how was everyone's weekend? (so far) i hope good!

Regarding Talla's hearing, we had the same issues with Ted after all of those ear infections when he was little. We brought him to an ENT and his Sinus Cavity was smaller than average. This is what was not allowing his eustachian tubes to drain properly. They put him on a prescription to help with the drainage, came back to the DR after a few weeks and they used a meter to measure the fluids in his ears and they had finally balanced out. He has been infection free ever since. This could be in part to the leveling or the fact that he grew a little more. Not really sure. Ask them to measure the fluids when you go for the hearing test. The meter looked much like an ear thermometer, worked ultrasonically (sp?). Ted was sensitive to certain sounds and not others. Made me wonder if it was attention or hearing. Turns out it was different tones registered better than others because of the fluid levels.

It sounds like you all had a great day yesterday! Great news about the ceiling fans! Woo hoo! My hubby does the same thing with home improvements that are done without him. I practically have to poke him to get any comment. It's only because he didn't do it himself. Feels guilty. lol! I totally commiserate in the dust department. Since hubby is a bricklayer, he spends a lot of time grinding the old mortar out of houses and has dust covering him head to toe when he gets home. It is a never ending battle to keep the dust down in our house. That is why I got the heavy duty vacuum, keeps it from blowing back out around the house and is great for the lampshades and curtains too. Extra long hose and tons of great attachments (as long as the kids don't swipe them like they always have in the past!).

I had the loveliest surprise this morning! Turns out the post man came very late yesterday and put my package in the mail box. Ted brought it in to me this morning! Thank you to my Secret Sender Becki! She sent the loveliest Frog Windchimes packaged in very pretty wrapping paper! The chimes have such a beautiful, delicate sound to them! I love it! She also wrote a very nice note and sent along some pretty memo pads (which I need desperately!), and some very pretty scented candles! Citrus Sunshine and Fresh Mint! They Smell Awesome! Becki, thank you so much! I absolutely love everything!

OhMyGoodnes. I am SO glad it's over!!!!

........ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ..............
Lol...it went well, but GEEZE, I am BEAT! We had a house full, mostly family..but there were 5 babies & 10 kids..plus 12 adults. Oh wow, we were outnumbered!!! :O) And on top of that, I had to babysit, which wasn't so bad, really...but certainly added to stress level. UGH.
And I made the mistake of buying Mt. Dew & Dr. Pepper to go with the cake & ice cream. (in my defense, sprite was $1.99 a bottle, while MT. Dew was only .75 cents!)

Whew...and I spent all day yesterday cleaning and sewing...(had to make Aubeni's party dress, and she wanted Adora to have one too.)

But it was all worth it, because Aubeni just called me at work tonight to tell me thank you! Isn't that sweet?! Marcus swears he didn't put her up to it, she just wanted to tell me thank you! (awwwwww!)

But Man oh Man....I need a massage. Or a long hot bath!

I think I'm gonna go home early tonight, I just can not swing the 2am thing. 12 is my limit. :O)

I'll try to post some pictures of the girls tomorrow. I forgot to take pics of the cake & decorations (DUH,mom! And after I stayed up until 2am making 2 ft tall butterflies!!!) But maybe grandma or someone got some good ones. (geeze, I can NOT believe I forgot to take pics of that!!! GRRRR!!!!)

I am so glad you got your package Tracy! That's always a nice suprise to get a package on Sunday!!! I'm hoping at some point if kiss him enough, magically Vin or Mel or McDreamy or McSteamy pop out!!! Okay, so they aren't princes, but I wouldn't complain!!!!

LOVE the dresses HNB!!!
I haven't sewn in years.I think maybe in 7th grade Home EC.You know when you have to make the animaml shaped pillow.(I still have mine ,its a dog)I'd rather knit or cross-stitch. My mom & sister make lovely quilts.I need to start doing some kind of craft or hobby that makes a profit!Really thinking about finding something to sell on E-bay.Resale clothes or something.This one income is not cutting it!Just wondering if after E-bay gets their % if it would be worth it.

Thanks, April! I sew for fun, and also make quilts...but I never use a pattern. Can't read the things! Which is why I don't crochet much. I'm pretty good at knitting a simple afghan, though! :O) (meaning: if you like a single color, boring stitch!) lol
Selling on Ebay is OK, but I've found it's only worth it with bigger ticket items, like over $10. Because there are list fees, ending value fees, and paypal fees too....so unless you charge an extra $2-3 on top of regular shipping charges (which most sellers do, it costs around $7 to ship a SHIRT! Geeze!).
Anyway, I don't Ebay much anymore, only with things I KNOW will sell fairly well, because it just takes too much time...and it's not worth it in the end, to me. But I hope you make a good go of it, if you decide to try! Wishing you lots of luck!! :O)

I forgot to show ya'll Aubeni's "cupcake". OhMyGoodness, I don't know WHAT I was thinking when I got this for her! (well, OK...it's pretty. That's what I was thinking!) :O) It's an 8" round Rose, chocolate cupcake in the middle (about the size of a mini muffin!!) and the rest is sugar icing.
Big DUH here....I let her eat it for breakfast this morning!!!! I'm gonna be peeling her off the ceiling in about 30 minutes. (countdown begins....NOW......) LOL

Bunny, I adore the girl's dresses! You totally made that Motorcycle print work with the sunflowers! You are truly a magician with the sewing machine! I love the little pockets in the front of Aubeni's dress! Smarty! I wish I had half your talent! They look so pretty! I hope your m.i.l. took pictures of the butterflies! I would love to see them! They sound so neat! I think you should sell accessories to themed Birthday Parties! You would make a killing there! lol!
