Thanks! On a related note, should I definitely think that these snails were eaten by rats? We also have mice, raccoons, an occasional skunk, etc wandering through - Could it have been one of them? See, I'd like to think that our snail problem is on the decline, but I killed the rats. Not that I would have kept them had I known that they like snails, it's just fun to learn more about the critters in your yard.

Snails are quite unlikely to cause lawn damage. Like slugs, they can eat vegetation, but grass grows so fast that isn't usually a problem. It probably isn't a coincidence though. If the spots were in any way more moist or trapping more humidity that other parts, it would draw snails as well as fungal diseases. It doesn't take much - just some grass flopping over etc.

I have a snail vine and a corkscrew vine. Both have identical foliage but the flowers are different. The snail vine has lavender flowers with no scent. The corkscrew vine blooms are white and pink and smell wonderful. Karyn The first pic is the snail vine, the second is the corkscrew vine.
