Castings in Houseplants

Jasdip

My name is Sherry.....and I'm a lurker...

Having done vermicomposting a few years ago, and got out of it due to a marriage breakup and the house being sold, I have missed it enormously.

I've recently started a bin in my apartment....I hate throwing out garbage when it can be put to a much better use. I plan on using my future castings in my houseplants, or just throw them out when I get too much.

My other favourite forum is the Houseplant one, and it has been said that compost/castings are not favourable because of the amount of moisture they hold. My plants do drain well, and are very healthy, and I don't want them to slide because of excess moisture.

Does anyone use the castings, regularly or not, in their houseplants??

Thanks for letting me be here,

Sherry
