Good b'fly/hummer plant for east fence?

I am fairly new to gardening and want to landscape for butterflies and hummingbirds (as well as any other birds). My goal is to get certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat. I have several seed packets for full sun or afternoon shade (butterfly weed, flax, bee balm, yellow bells, various wildflowers, and scarlet runner beans) but I can't find anything that seems good for the west side of my eastern privacy fence. Would any of the ones I have work well? I'm starting seeds inside now so if there is anything I can go pick up I will. I'm trying to do a lot of landscaping cheaply hence the seeds. I prefer perennials or self-sowers because I'm a homeschooling mom of 3 and need things as low-maintenance as possible.

I'm in Pflugerville (northeast of Austin).
