Garden Quotes

Do you have any really special or favorite gardening quotes? Some of my favorites are:

"COMPOST: Because a rind is a terrible thing to waste." (This one's on my compost bins)~Author Unknown

"HEAVEN" (On my garden gate)

I also like: "The best fertilizer is the gardener's shadow." (In the garden) ~Author Unknown

And: "By the time one is eighty, it is said, there is no longer a tug of war in the garden with the May flowers hauling like mad against the claims of the other months. All is at last in balance and all is serene. The gardener is usually dead, of course." (In the house) ~Henry Mitchell, The Essential Earthman, 1981

"Creating world peace, one garden at a time." (On my front gate) ~Author Unknown

"Trespassers will be composted." (On the front fence)

The short ones I like to carve into wooden signs which are posted around my gardens, the longer ones I have written in calligraphy and have them in frames around the house. I've had the same ones for a long time and wonder if anyone out there has something memorable, remarkable or humourous that is your favorite. -Cheryl
