Maybe the person who got your package can't get on either to post that they received it. Also to the pal that sends to me, I will be in Florida for a week and be back on June 10 and I am going to send to my pally before I leave. School's out tomorrow! The official start of Summer!

My package arrived! How wonderful my secret pal is! And do not worry....the package wasn't late.....it is still May. And it came on a nice long weekend so I have time to enjoy everything! I am already snacking on the cookies and tea. I spent the morning digging a new bed around my mailbox but could not decide what to put in it...lo and behold, it now has the beautiful sedum(s!) planted in it. I knew not about sedums but with a little research I think I could become quite addicted with all the different kinds. The hosta will be planted tomorrow in my shady woodland patch in my front yard. Thanks again for such a wonderful package! This is my first exchange and I didn't quite anticipate how excited I would be to open my gifts! I can't wait until next month!

yea I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one that had been having problems entering the site. I was going crazy and even email the site because I thought I had gotten *poofed* for some odd reason. I was finally able to get in by opening internet explorer though and then the next day I could get in without internet explorer just fine :-) hope the problems are over now! :)

Hi everyone. Not much activity on GW tonight. I guess everyone is catching up after the long weekend.

I have met 2 people on GW that live about 10-15 mins from me. I haven't met them in person yet but there is a plant swap here on Sunday. I will meet them then. This is my first swap. I think it will be fun! Maybe I will find something cool for my pal. :)

btw, I have been reading some of the other rr swap threads and I just want to say (again) that you guys make up a wonderful and fun group! I couldn't have better garden pals than you all! Thanks!
Some of the other swaps seem to be having problems with disappearing pals who aren't sending their boxes. Looks like I got lucky here and got the GW "elite"!!!!

Maybe we are the "elite", but I still haven't gotten a box for May. Sorry to bust your bubble... If you don't mind could you please check on my pal and see what is going on?

Hi all. I've missed out on quite a bit lately. It's been OH sooo busy lately. I had a plant swap and sale and met a GW gentleman from my area. (We both concluded that there was a GW problem, as neither of us were able to connect for a couple of days) We did some great exchanges. Now, to plant those trades and all my WS babies, some of which are just now starting to germinate. There just aren't enough hours in the day! I'll be trying to get out to my pal this week......we do have the entire month to do this without ill feelings I hope. Have a great weekend. Barb

I recieved a wonderful package on Friday from my secret pal! Lets see, the basil was great for the spagettii dinner we had that night, the bergomont made it fine and was planted quickly out in my garden where I could keep a watch on it till it gets better established, the moonflower seedlings were awesome idea, those were planted under the apple tree...dont worry there is almost no shade under that apple tree so I expect it to climb the tree and do well- I have never grown moon flowers before yet always wanted too! And the gloves...welll I have been weraing them all weekend in the gardens. The kids have already done the bubbles and were good for hours and hours playing with them...it was good to hear them squeal and laugh, bubbles do it for kids for sure! And the gum was a great idea, I only give them a litle at a time or they would put all of it in the mouths at once! Thank you dear secret pal, it seems I hit the jackpot this time with my secret pal! I feel really fortunate as other times having a secret pal hasnt always worked out for me! So thank you so much for remembering me. I hope your secret pal whomever it is, is taking good care of you as you are of me. And if they arent- well I only hope they are.

Well, well, well. My Secret Pal has been at it again! You really make my day. Here I am, trying to meet a deadline and all stressed out, and along comes this wonderful box of goodies. There was: Plumtart Gladiolus bulbs (this is my color of the year. It will fit in well with the rose campion, and scarlet flax), Nova Lux Gladiola, seeds of Imperial Larkspur, Verigated Yellow flag iris, Purple iris, garlic chives (yum) and some "mystery bulbs" (can't wait to see which they are). As it turns out, my SP is also very creative. A wooden bowl, to which was applied a ceramic mosaic of beautiful "broken" pieces from various plates and bowls, all with a floral theme, colored glass and pearls and topped off with a 3D porcelin (sp) rose that I can't believe actually made it here in one piece! It's so delicate. You are so generous. I don't know if I could part with something I made that was this beautiful. Thanks so much!!!!!! Have a GREAT month. Barb

I was just getting on to post that I did get it. I got it day before yesterday and couldn't post until now. I normally post at work but I've been swamped. Sorry to worry her/him.

I just gotta say, I don't know about y'all but my pal RULZ!
She went out of her way to put together a fantastic box! I got 3 ferns which I so dearly love: a sensitive fern, a wood fern, and a (gasp) Japanese painted fern! I also got zinnia seeds, shasta daisy seeds, pyrethrum daisy seeds (thanks for the sowing tip) and some fenugreek seeds. Fenegreek is good for you; I know what for but I'm so zoning right now that I can't remember.

I also got a rooster planter ornament. I have a rooster collection. Love it! Now my rooster thing moves into the garden, lol. My kids love you for that!

I make jewelry and jeweled gazing balls. She sent me
(squeal) a box of amber and crystal beads (that is the main color I work with - you're a mind reader!), some elastic line, some fine, thin wire and a far-out mini watering can that's going to become a plant stake for my yard.

My co-workers already think I'm one dice short of a Yahtzee game but when I started oohing and squealing, they catagorized me.

I cannot thank you enough for your thoughtfulness. You read my questionaire (sp) with a fine tooth comb.

Enough gushing. I just want to say that, from reading all the posts, this whole group of secret pals RULZ! Everyone seems to really want to put a smile on someone's face. Thanks, Dawn, for all of your work in putting this together and working it.

Well I can honestly say that my pal is AWESOME!! I asked for scented geraniums and boy did I recieve! I opened the box (it had to be 2 feet by 2 feet!)and it was jam packed with scented geraniums-cuttings and plants! My wife looked at the box and said "you've got to be kidding!" She hates the smell of geraniums, lol. I love em! Thanks! I also recieved a ceramic dill plant marker and a coloring book for my son about trees I think....I'm not really sure because I gave it to him and he has been working on coloring in it ever since. The information you sent about the scented geraniums was great too! I have to say though I thought I killed the avacado though. It must have been too cold one night last week (45 degrees) and the leaves all died and fell off so I took it inside. Well I looked at it today and three new leaves are growing on it. I think I will make this an indoor plant from now on.

Another month packed with tons of great stuff! You guys are lucky dogs!

Every spring it seems that teens are at risk, its usually prom night and or friends having fun together and someone gets hurt or something serious happens, just a giant nightmare that rips the heart and shakes one numb. Their youth,innocence, and place in life is so confusingly difficult to accept as being taken away. I think we have all experienced it at one point in life and for those who never have, I hope you never do.

Dusty, I feel for your loss of a dear loved child, wish I could give you a hug.

Thank you Lilyrose and Dawn! We're healing.. but still have a hard time thinking about it/talking about it without crying. Yes Lilyrose.. I hope noone ever has to expierence that! I have lost 2 kids that were very close to me and my family in the past 2 years. Hunters death was expected and a lil easier. This sudden one kicked me a lil harder.

Sounds like folks are getting great boxes! I haven't even thought about what to send this month, minus one thing.. but it's suppose to cool down later in the week, so I'll feel more comphy sending plants. We've had a heat wave here since last Tuesday! We're not use to this! Had some rain with T-storms, but not enough! We're definately veering on a drought. Low snowfall this winter and hardly and rain this Spring. Think I'll have to add another layer of mulch to the gardens.

I got my June package!!! It was loaded with goodies-cheese and crackers both shaped like the state of Texas- I had to share with my pup Gadget(those eyes) and some cookies, a gardening apron (handy for my job and here at home. Now maybe I won't keep losing my garden tools)3 different plants-variegated just like I wanted and a glass and wire butterfly(?) that hangs off your hanging plants. And the best was a Rooster cutting board!! My new kitchen has that theme.
Thank you.. it was a day brightner after a week of rain.

jeesh! I had some password problems - but I'm good now! I received my June box and it contained some wonderful things! I was very excited and can't wait to hang the bird house. I also received Lamb's Ear which is one of my favorite plants! I got another plant, but the name escapes me right now....It'll come to me, I'm getting old! LOL
My June box is ready to go out - I was in search of the right mailing box..you'll see why! LOL

I'm finally able to get back here. All I've been able to pull up on RR exchange has been those banner ads. Very frustrating. Sounds like everyone is getting nice June gifts. Hope everyones gardens are doing well. Tis' the season us northern gardeners dream about all winter long. Happy summer!

Now thats the third time I write this message, I seem to have real trouble with my PC tonight.
I have received my June box. My pal must be the greatest packaging person there is. Even so the temps were in the 90's up here (no, I'm not complaining, I love it!!) the plants made it in great shape. Thanks so much.
The purple Trillium had the stem broken, I planted it anyway, there's always hope! Then I received a pale viola, blue cohosh, and a Geranium (as kids we called them Storchenschnabel, it reminded me of my childhood in Switzerland, roaming through the woods, thanks for that)
A booklet Cameo Cats, wild Columbine seeds, handmade candles, a plate with flowers, rosehip/Hibiscus tea and ...

By the way, the Brugmansia seeds Rosamund I received in the May box, germinated. The seedling is now 5 inches tall and looking good. I hope the summer will be long enough to maybe see her blooming, (just hoping!!)

It seems to me like most of the people who haven't gotten anything also haven't sent yet. If you have decided to wait until you get yours before sending, although this is understandable, if everyone waits until the end of month to send and we also wait until we get ours before sending then nobody is going to send to anybody, everyone will be waiting for their boxes, and the month will go by. Maybe we can try to send a little earlier in the month perhaps? There was one addr mix up and some other personal things have happened and I spoke to some of you already. As for the others, I don't know. Some are posting that you haven't gotten a box yet but not posting when you plan to send yours out. Because your pals are saying the same thing - I didn't get one yet. It's becoming increasingly harder for me to keep track of who did and didn't as the months go on. And this is only the second month! What I am trying to say is are we all going to send to our pals with the faith that the person sending to us is going to send and not stiff us? Because we all can't wait until the next sends or eventually no one will send.

I wanted to post and let my secret pal, (one of many I see)know that I have not forgotten you. Please accept my sincerest apologies. I packed your box up yesterday evening(on the 29th) and it is going in the mail at 9 am this morning (The 30th). I had every intention of getting your box out to you much sooner. It has just been a hectic month, and I am truly sorry. I'm sure next month will be better.

I received my June package today, and wish to say thank you so very much secret pal. I went straight for your note, and felt very sorry for what you are going through. I hope your loved one will be OK. You said you hoped I didn't already have a Bonsai garden. But, secret palie, I was introduced to Bonsai last year, and know what great fun it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, your Bonsai goodies were just fine with me!! What I have so far are young specimens, an Oak, an apple, Juniper, a pine, and something unknown that came up, probably from last years saved winter sowing pots. I loved your Bonsai package. I didn't have the Essential Bonsai book you sent me yet. What a wonderful addition to my "gardening library". The mini kit is so cute!!!!!!! I also appreciated the many packets of seeds of things that can be done Bonsai. I will also make use of the decorative pebbles and river stones. The stones are really special, because I collect pretty rocks, and since they came from your area, that's really cool!! And, I LOVE tea!!! Thank you again very, very much.
