Editing your Profile

I just spent a couple of minutes updating my profile and when I hit the save button I noticed that it was all the same info that I had typed very early in the spring. After I hit save I got sent back to the sign in page and when I signed back in it was still the old paragraph of text.

Is there a trick to it making it save what you wrote? Maybe it didn't save because of a character limit?

Any help would be appreciated.

Seems to me a lot of people are having trouble there. All I can suggest is that you scroll all the way to the bottom of the first page of any forum, click on technical problems and send this message to the powers that be. It may help but I would guess that it will take a while.

Maybe, but why. If I go visit your page it is a secure link. Why. It has been over a month since I posted this question. And still no reply from GW staff. Great customer service (not). I'm not wanting to hack into the site. Wast of time. I only want to get an answer to my question. Why are member page links secure since they don't need to be. Pooh Bear

How to officially set your zone

I thought I had managed to get the zone set after the GardenWeb/Houzz merge, but I noticed it wasn't showing up. So I went to the profile to try it again, and now I don't see anything about zone at all. I went to edit profile and advanced settings but there is nothing on there about zone. Did they move it again?

I found if I had problems getting it done with abc browser, that it would then maybe work with xyz browser.

Have you tried it with a different browser? I also found it took a bit for the info to be updated, if I remember correctly.

Hi Sue,

Yesterday I saw your post in another thread on the same subject and decided to wait and see. So far it hasn't updated but I'll do as you suggest and try it with IE next. Thanks.

I just tried to update my profile and again it didn't work so I tried it with IE and again I got sent back to the sign in page and signed in again and pasted the info back in. When I hit save it finally took.

So if you're also having trouble try diff browsers and copy/past your info to your clip board so you can paste it back in if it doesn't save the first time.
