Yes, Lizalily... I've begun to write down a few thoughts on the subject of mislabeled bulbs, and as I said, with a little more input from the crowd I'll be going for broke! I want it to be a generic letter that can be sent to multiple companies since it's more than one company handing out mislabeled bulbs. It would be helpful to me if everyone would tell me how many bulbs they've gotten that have been either mislabeled or have had health issues, and which companies they've had problems with. I believe I will begin a new thread with this in mind... I think the mislabel problems begin at the grower level and are not really the fault of the retailer or wholesaler, although keeping the proper tags with the proper bulbs ends at the seller level. Most plant material sold in bulk can be ordered with or without tags, and there are separate companies that sell tags. I know this to be true with growers and sellers that deal in annuals and perennials, so I'm assuming it might be the same for bulbs... I'm not certain of this, though. Either way, just our little group of buyers here on the forum adds up to a lot of money spent and a lot of bulbs purchased, and it's not right to pay good money for something and have it not be what was originally ordered!

I have a cousin who wrote a cookbook as he used to be a chef in his earlier years. He was also in acting and was a radio announcer for a radio station in VT. His cookbook didn't sell as well as he hoped. I did provide him with a few favorite recipes however, just to help fill some additional pages. Because these threads tend to drop off after a preset amount, we have no control over very old posts, unless they are 'resurrected' before dropping off. Writing a synopsys of all the facts is a daunting task. I just hope that new-bees spend a few minutes to do searches before sending personal emails. Had I not taken the extra effort to copy and paste the above, it would have gone unshared. Once in a while I come up with a neat trick, and always like to share the experiences. My most sucessful has been to use the acid blend when making jellies. I have to say that I have not seen a single jar of my jellies spoil even after using all Splenda as a sweetener. Several years ago, no one ever heard of Clear Jel, until I posted links and mentioned using it, as well as the Pomona pectin. These 'tidbits' are now showing up in real web search links to the GW pages. Nice to know that they are not buried long after a few 100 links before them. As to been there, done that, I sure have had my share of that!

Bill and Sue, My orders this year were a combination of love at first sight and cheapskate curiosity. The "love" order was 'Port Royale,' a dark crimson Japanese peony from Song Sparrow (it just arrived, and looks like a good plant). I saw it last winter on their website, and totally fell for it. I fell in "love" again in the spring, and ordered 'Early Glow' and 'Mahogany' and 'Amalia Olson' from Hollingsworth's. They should arrive any time. 'Early Glow' and 'Mahogany' will find homes in my "hot" garden in the back yard. The "cheapskate curiosity" order is from Wild's. I know they won't send large roots, but for their clearance price I could try half a dozen plants for the price of one from Klehm's or Hollingsworth, and even use a couple as gifts to a friend if they're really healthy. I ordered 'Mt. St. Helens' because my son is nuts about volcanoes, and he liked the idea of a plant named after his favorite eruption. I also ordered 'Mischief,' 'Polar King,' and a couple others whose names escape me right now. Now I have to find ROOM for all these beauties, since I bought 'Kelway's Glorious' and 'Duchesse de Nemours' this summer. I have to finagle the peonies in among my other plant loves - heirloom irises and daylilies. Laurel

As many of you, I have been drooling over this grill for over a year. Your postings have confirmed my thoughts and I have already received financial approval. I will be getting this grill within the next 2 weeks. The question I have, and also saw that someone else asked but have not seen a response, has anyone done a "permanent" or "semi-permanent" installation with an LP heated house? My house is only a year old and is heated by LP. We have a 1000 gallon tank buried in the yard. All of the discussions of plumbing type and size encourage me to offer some detail as to our setup. There is a regulator on the side of the house that drops the pressure to 2 PSI. Inside there is a regulator attached to a manafold that provides individual taps for every appliance (2 furnaces, water heater, stove, dryer, and a dedicated run to the deck for a "future grill") All of this is done with a somewhat flexible 1/2" yellow (I guess vinyl) coated copper. That main regulator is supposed to be able to support all of the appliances and maintain the 14" of pressure. Outside is a stub of 1/2" black pipe to which I need to connect. My plan is a temporary connection (soft hose) upon purchase and a permanent one when I can build this unit in. I agree with the concerns of leaks and will obviously put a shut-off valve before any soft hose. I saw mention of a hose kit from HD for $35. This is listed as an NG hose but at roughly 1/2 PSI I assume it will work for LP? Any thoughts or input would be appreciated. Thanks, Lee
