I assumed you had central air conditioning. If you are going to have a window unit in the kitchen, then that effectively is a separate zone. You should be fine in the summer assuming the window unit can keep up with the heat gain of the kitchen. One window unit in such a large space may not be able to keep the temperature even throughout the whole kitchen when the sun is beating down on the windows. Think about two smaller units installed at opposite ends of the room. It is difficult to say if kitchen will have the same temperature as the rest of the house during the winter. It is better insulated, but it has a lot of windows and a high ceiling. It will be probably fine during the day, but may be cold during the night. How many feet of baseboard will be installed? To what temperature do you set the thermostat during the day and night? If you don't want to spend the money now, then I suggest install the new plumbing for the baseboard so that it will be easy to zone in the future in case you are not happy with the temperature of the kitchen. I would also run the wires for the thermostat now in order to make it easier in the future. Thermostat wiring is inexpensive and simple to install when the studs are exposed.

Update! I did dispute the charge with my credit card, and also messaged the company's CS about my reluctance to sign such a broad waiver of my rights when they were the ones that created this situation. They were quite adamant, over the course of 3 phone conversations (the CS rep kept checking with her supervisor), that unless I signed the release/waiver I would get no refund. I told them that I would not sign the waiver and would pursue the other options (file complaints with the attorney general & with the BBB, and continue to dispute the charge). I contacted my bank's credit dispute desk again to ask them about this demand for a waiver of my rights, and they advised me to not engage with the company any further. A few days later, I also posted an update to my original online review, detailing my interactions with the company including the terms of the release/waiver that they wanted me to sign in order to be refunded for my missing carpet and the overcharge for installation. Amazingly, the next morning I received both a phone message and an email telling me that "after much deliberation" the company has decided to grant me my refund without requiring me to sign the waiver. I haven't responded yet. I suspect that they will ask me to remove my negative review. I will call the bank again to see if they advise accepting this, or continue to allow VISA to deal with it. PS if anyone wants to know the name of this multi-state flooring chain, send me a PM. I would warn anyone against dealing with them. Most transactions go off smoothly, I expect, but I do still wonder if overestimating and overcharging is SOP for them and folks just don't realize that it has happened.

I've had whether or not my zone info was displayed vary from one post to another. And it seemed like there were many times when it didn't display when I first posted but was there later - I haven't done anything to keep track of what, specifically happened in each instance. Point being maybe there has been a delay in most or all instances, and this is what others have been seeing with their posts.

The pharmacist would likely recommend otc hydrocortisone, topical Benadryl, and other anti itch topicals. When I got stung by a bee when dead heading a marigold bloom, I remembered a remedy told by my mom about turmeric, so I immediately ran back inside and made a paste of turmeric powder, then applied & gently massaged on to the affected area between my thumb and forefinger. 30 minutes later, the swelling and pain were nearly gone. An hour later it was like nothing happened there. From there on I use this remedy for insect bites. I always have a turmeric powder bottle on my spice shelf to use occasionally in some dishes. Turmeric powder is also used to reduce arthritis pain and inflammation when taken internally. Several years ago, The People’s Pharmacy talk show discussed an arthritis remedy using this powder. I referred to this talk show and recommended it to a dear friend’s mom who had arthritis pain in her arm/shoulder joint. She took a teaspoon every night and it started working for her in a few weeks. She has taken it every night ever since. When I had a surgery on my jaw bone, I took turmeric powder, along with using ice pack. Worked well to control inflammation without taking ibuprofen which often does not go well with my stomach. Can you see how much I like turmeric powder. That said, people must consult with their doctor or pharmacist if they want to take turmeric while on certain prescription drugs or under a treatment regimen.
