Beth those are some purrrrteeeee flower beds you have. My goodness you could make you ten arrangements a day if you wanted to. How do you ever decide which one to take a picture of? Love the iris and foxglove too. I like your stone edged path and your lovely wooden fence. Do you ever grow lilies? They were my first love but now the roses are coming in at a real close 2nd. WOW!!!!!Beth. This is all just gorgeous.WOW,never seen so many roses in one spot,other then at the American Rose Society Rose Gardens. I would love to spend a afternoon in your yard just walking around looking and smelling them all.BEAUTIFUL and the Bearded Iris are very pretty, too and the Foxgloves.I have never tried Foxgloves,,at least not that I remember.I have had about every flower there is at one time or another.I use to have Hollyhocks growing by the house,but,when the house caught on fire back in 90 they got destroyed with carpenters walking on them.What growing in the little Tripod?Gee, your roses are soo pretty.

Judy, yes I do have lilies. In fact, they are all beginning to show signs of buds coming! I have tons of Orientals, Asiatics and other types of lilies. And then the dahlias will pop up soon too. I'm cramming all sorts of bulbs and perennials all around the roses to try and keep the weeds down.

Jean, you should try some foxgloves. I'm lovin' them this yr! I planted them all over the place the last couple of yrs. And boy oh boy, they are blooming like weeds! I just wish I could grow delphiniums. That's one thing that doesn't gow here.

Hey, that's my pathway! Small boulders with pea gravel... I've never seen anyone else with it :)

Love that shot #8 with the purple Iris... to the far right is an orange pink rose... do you know the name of that one?

Decobug, the rocks and gravel just seemed like the easiest most economical way to make the beds and pathways. I like 'em!
That rose you asked about is actually two roses. The more orangey, taller one is BRASS BAND. The shorter, more pinkish one is the striped MICHELANGELO aka THE PAINTER

You really have a yard full of roses! I can't imagine all the work that goes into maintaining them. It's so unusual to see so many roses in a yard, it looks like an impressionist painter's dream. In fact, a painting of it would be a wonderful way to keep winter at bay, but, I guess you don't experience much in the way of winter there. Still, a painting of all those glorious colors and shapes... I would love to see it. Thanks for sharing your wealth of inspiration. Brandy

I usually haunt the Perennial and Cottage Garden forums, but once in awhile ill wonder over here to look at everyones great roses. I am SO glad I did today! Your have an absolutely STUNNING garden Beth! I bet you can smell it from a block away! It must be wonderful to wake up every morning, step outside and smell those heavenly roses. How in the world do you keep track of all the names? Do you memorize them or have tags? GREAT garden; BEAUTIFUL roses!
-Ps. I also have that kind of pathway, and love it too. Only I use mulch instead of peagravel since the path opens up onto my lawn.

Brandy, I do get plenty of winter! We get a few snow days every yr. Doesn't last long, but gets pretty darn cold. I hate winter. And I'm no painter!

Christin, the garden really smelled more when the irises were still blooming. They're actually "smellier" than most of my roses. I have a word file that I use to keep track of the roses, with locations and info. Plus I have hand-drawn maps of the beds. I have to, or I'd forget exactly who is where!

Gary, JOSHUA BRADLEY is a little farther to the left and behind BRASS BAND in that same bed. I don't think it's quite visible.
