Addictions....there are so many... Pistachios currently and coffee. Used to be addicted to Mt. Dew. Why? Cuz it was like taking a shower on the inside! I was addicted to tropical plants and carnivorous plants before orchids. Used to be addicted to buying CD's and smoking ganja/taking drugs. I collected dragons and wooden puzzle boxes obsessively. I'm addicted to tv and media in general, including some reality shows. Cigarettes. Lord of the Rings and now Harry Potter. Computers. Used to be a freak for online cribbage. I'm obsessed with killing squirrels, mosquitoes, and snails, lately. Sports. Stringed instruments, concerts, covered parking, exotic fruits. I'm sure there are more...but I must go outside to kill some snails and have a smoke. -MB p.s. i forgot "hot asian cam-sluts"...but i guess that counts as porn, eh? :)

Thank you everyone. I am happy to be a part of this enabler (not recovery!) group. As you can see, I owe my addiction to several enablers who stepped in at critical moments and gave me freebies until my addiction was confirmed! I have done this to other people as well. One of my relatives went to Hawaii after I had given her a plumeria and she returned without buying another one. She told me she had experienced overwhelming urges to buy plumeria cuttings and plants, the power of which amazed her. So I gave her a second plumeria shortly after she returned home! I predict we will all be bidding against her next spring.

Well, take advantage of it while it lasts. DW was like that for a few years, and then, as time passed like a worm crawling through the finished compost, she became more, what shall I say, 'distant' to the trowel, pitchfork, and sunburned neck scene, and would look, positively askance, at my grubby knees, cracked fingernails, and torn pockets where I forgot to take out the pruners and the trowel. I won't need to get into the muddy shoe thing, I'm sure everyone has been there. And then, one morning as I brightly and cheerfully suggested we go, hand in hand, to put an absurd amount on the credit card at the new nursery in town, she led me by the hand over to the corner of the garage where, stacked (neatly, I might add) up were several hundred empty 1 gallon pots, and mutely pointed at them. No tapping foot, but I got the point.

Cynthia they all look happy and healthy. They remind me of little dragonflies. Did the tips get scorched on some of them or did you pinch them? I have some similar pink caudexes from Ko. My seedlings of A. obesum 'Miracle' started with a pink stem, but ended up filling in with color. The leaves are a little short on chlorophyll making them look like they could be variegated. They are a little more sensitive to light than the others. Tracy
