Well, I've got two figs started, because the suckers I dug for my neighbor had too much length and growth on them to leave in this heat. Supposedly tip cuttings from figs do well at this time.
I haven't started anything else yet, but I'll be doing some spirea in a few days.

You can try with most any woody ornamental as long as you can do them under mist or keep them out of full sun and use a humidity chamber. Most are not real hard to do. Ask for information on whatever it is you want to root. Many of us have books and manuals ... we can tell you what the books say even if we don't do the particular plant. After a hard frost has taken the leaves off you can take dormant cuttings of woody ornamentals and stick them directly in the garden.

Starting a group of Hypericum 'Hidcote' (very easy one), some Monarda. and a few clematis. Also about a dozen sedum 'Autumn Joy' from a plant which accidently got demolished while I was weeding. Was thinking about some more clematis, but my wife threatened to divorce me if I put in many more.

Could you please tell me how to root clemetis?I have never been able to root one of these.Thank you in advance for the info.

At this time of the year, I am taking Agastache, Buddleja, Psoralea, Hoya, Hebe, Salix, Salvia, Lampranthus, Delosperma, and Caryopteris.

I decided to try something different...I took short cuttings. Most are only about 2". I wanted to put them indoors under my lights and I only have about 10" of space below the florescent lights. I used the standard 10x20 nursery flat that you can get at places like Lowes in the sping with the 6-cell packs (usually already filled with the potting medium). These trays also come with clear plastic dome lids. So I wanted to use these to retain the moisture. I used the 6-cell packs and can remove individual cell packs when needed.

I started lavender, phlox (tall hybrid), dianthus (spring beauty type), asters (nova-angliae) and gypsophilia (baby's breath). I took little side flowering shoots off the phlox and they are wanting to bloom. Had to cut the bloom buds off...so they must be living. The lavender must be quick because a couple of the cuttings are growing as they are beginning to touch the top of the dome and none were that tall when I potted them.

The hardest I think is the baby's breath. I've tried it before without success. I think I took my cuttings last time in spring...maybe now will be better. I had used it as cut flower filler and where I cut, new shoots were forming, some with bloom.

The aster I bought from the local nursery already in bloom and after the blooms faded I sheared them off and they were putting up new growth for more blooms. Most of these cuttings also seemed to be bloom shoots. So I'll see how they do. They have been potted now for about a week. I've already lost about 3 of the baby's breath cuttings but a lot of them still look good.

My last effort for the season is comprised of some favorite hybrids that I don't expect would come true from seed:
geranium 'rozanne'
salvia 'cardonna'
garden phlox 'nicky'
aster 'purple dome'
helenium 'moerheim beauty'

are thes cuttings for indoors under light or outside cuttings? can you do cuttings of geraniums indoors...what about a dormant time for them if inside?

do you think it would work to take fuchsia cuttings now to root indoors? Assuming of course that I could actually get them to root. My cuttings tend too just stand therefor a month, snort a couple of times and keel over.
