indoor aphids-question

verthwy

A few weeks ago i brought in a large pot of English ivy from outdoors. A few days ago i noticed that it is infested with aphids. Thankfully the plant was in a seperate room, away from other houseplants!

I trimmed all the tips that were badly infested, but i know there are still aphids on the other stems & leaves. I am wondering if i can leave the plant outside on a covered porch for a few days to kill those remaining aphids. After all, it is English ivy & i think it is pretty hardy.

Please tell me if:

1. the plant would survive below freezing temps on a covered porch

2. the aphids will be killed by the below freezing temps

Thank you for your help!
