Red Flag For Warning/Extreme SW OK Counties

Okiedawn OK Zone 7

The NWS has issued a Red Flag Fire Warning for 3 counties in far southwestern Oklahoma and for several adjacent counties in western north Texas. The Red Flag Fire Warning is in effect from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. today.

I've linked the NWS Enhanced webpage below and you can click on the link to see the affected counties.

When Red Flag Fire Warning conditions exist, fires can start easily and spead rapidly due to relatively high temperatures, low humidity values and high winds.

Keep in mind that fire danger may be very high to extreme in other portions of the state even if those conditions do not quite meet the criteria for a Red Flag Fire Warning. Also, as the day progresses, if weather conditions change, other areas could find themselves under a Fire Weather Watch or Red Flag Fire Warning.
