Looks like rat to me. Watermelon seeds are too small of an incentive for squirrels. Get a cat or two! They are much better than dogs at deterring rodents because they are proactive. I have 3 of them and they spend 90% of their time napping in my garden: squirrels stay at bay, possums also ( except for one that they tolerate on the fence only - not on the ground-) birds do not pick my fruits or vegetables, no rats, no mice = peace of mind. With nectarines, apricots, grapes, plum, pears, tomatoes, cantaloupes, watermelon etc, in my garden, there would be rodents all over the place if it wasn't for them! If you do not want a cat as a pet, associations are giving "barn cats" they are neutered microchipped and vaccinated, they live in barns/sheds and they do their hunter job. But you need to provide a safe place where they can go when it is too cold or too hot, water, food, vaccines, and vet care. Mine are well fed and are spoiled pets so they don't "over hunt" and sleep on our beds. They run after pests but stop the chase as soon as the critters are out of the garden. Good balance. Squirrels are staying high in the trees ( I like squirrels as long as they don't eat my fruits) I keep a stepladder in between my tomato plants, the cat lays on the upper stair and the birds do not even think about my tomatoes: problem solved.

Yeah it is hatching time for all the grubs. You may want to consider treating your yard and soil with Milky Spore to eliminate the grubs if you have a serious infestation of them. If you kill the grubs then the damage done by the beetles is markedly reduced. Organic control will be difficult once they hatch as most organic controls are directed at killing the grubs (Milky Spore and parasitic nematodes). After hatch we are left with row covers, scouting and hand picking them, Pyrethrin-based insecticides, and Neem Oil all of which are only marginally effective. I don't know what species this is. I feel confident that it's not a wasp or bee. The body shape is too different, I don't see wings (which almost certainly means the striping along the back of the animal is occurring on "elytra", the modified forewings nearly all beetles have, and which protect the hindwings actually used for flying), and the feet look very much like beetle feet. I can't see the antennae well enough to be absolutely certain, but I strongly suspect this is a longhorned beetle of some sort. There are many such beetles, some of which hang out in flowers as adults (without harming them). Very often the larvae of these beetles eat trees & shrubs, usually when those plants are already in a state of decline, or have already died. I think it's striped in a pattern that mimics bees & wasps. Many longhorned beetle species have such striping (although many more do not). I also suspect your flowers are being damaged by thrips, especially if this damage occurs most often on your pale colored roses.

Those Sow Bugs, Pill Bugs, Roly Polies, Wood Lice are part of Ma Natures recyceling machine and there is no real good reason to feel the need to control them. They will be where ever there is a cool, moist place, such as a well mulched garden, rocks piled up, wooden boards layed on the soil. They may on occassion be found munching on a plant, most often plants that other insects have already done bad things to.
