i was inundated w/ the little buggers. i tried mushing them, but then read a post about the beneficials who depend on them and keep them under control. so i pulled off my latex gloves and watched.... and waited... and lo and behold the syrphid flies did their thing, the ladybug nymphs did their thing, and the little wasps did their part as well. it was amazing to watch the boom of aphids then their almost overnight decline, then the slow build until all the predators returned and the resulting decline. amazing cycles, ebbs and flows, all the while i collected and raised over 200 eggs to adulthood :) now, the tachinid wasp 'maggots' those suckahs are a different story :( in nw ga

If you can avoid it, don't ever watch him on television, on the golf course in those stupid ill-fighting golf pants of his, walking away from the camera and then see those golf pants stuck up where they shouldn't be and then all bunched up around his fat thighs. I have that image burned into my eyes and thought I should share.

I haven't noticed any bitter ones, and I don't know if this will be of help to anyone, but I buy grapes a lot and this is how I tell if they are going to be any good. I never taste them in the store. I don't have to. If you feel a grape and it feels firm, it will be sweeter than those that feel soft. The same is true for cherries. On green grapes, the ones with a slightly yellow cast will be sweeter. Never buy those sealed up where you can't touch them. If you look at the stem end, you can see they aren't as fresh. The one thing I am ultra picky about is food. I don't mind paying for quality but I hate buying something that turns out bad.

Both of us are retired and home alone together quite often, even without the stay-at-home necessity of the pandemic. I have, for many years into retirement, had street clothes and at home clothes - as gardengal describes. As soon as I come in the door, my shoes and socks are off and my slippers are on. Comfortable pants/leggings and t-shirts/hoodies. Even when we travel I need dual sets of clothes. Haven't noticed any difference in frequency of laundry. I usually do a load everyday as routine, more or less to keep up with bath, bed and kitchen linens. Can't remember the last time we had anything dry-cleaned. DH used to travel on business so often I finally bit the bullet and started taking his dress shirts to the cleaners to be laundered and pressed along with his suits to be dry cleaned., We have morphed over many years from me buying his necessities like shirts, underwear, socks and washing/folding his laundry (mind you, I had a professional career but his mother always did this) to the stage now where he and I have segregated laundry baskets for our respective clothes. I do mine, he does his. Such bliss!!
