A project that I've been working on!-recycled air fresheners
Comments (11)It's interesting that some products are sold here in the states and nowhere else. I did purchase these air fresheners at Wal-Mart. I haven't actively gone looking ofr them recently though...Bright, I think Photobucket would be the same in posting a thumbnail photo. That is not what I want. I read why shutterfly only has the thumbnails (and mine is the largest of the thumbnail). I had another place I stored photos online and they switched to shutterly. It's taking me a little while to get used to the new site and how to add, alter and link my photos ....I really don't want to mess with it anymore that I do. What I'd really like is to upload them somehow directly from my desk top to the post in a viewable size.... Oh and sweetkountry, those soudn cool. BUT, wouldn't it be time consuming filling all those bottles for those wondeful lil' hummers? Let us know what you finally end up doing with your lil air freshsenre bottles. Kirk, I cannot believe you and Carol---you are bad or good for each other. I think it's great that she has fully thrown herself into this whole junking creativity. We're like one battery charging another battery. :-) Love, Jules...See MoreI've been eagerly anticipating...
Comments (13)Thank you, ogrose. I used to try to grow the kind of roses you can grow, and then swore off roses due to the difficulty keeping of them alive here. When I discovered that I loved the form of roses other than HTs, I discovered hardy roses. Mandolls, here's a link to an article with a list of hardy roses. I have 2 polestar that cover a large arbor...they rarely have any winter kill, and when they do, they bounce right back. I'll post a picture when they bloom. I also have kilwinning (blooming right now, but it's difficult to take a good photo of it), Julia Bugnet, Lac La Nonne, Foxi pavement and purple pavement. And then there's the rose that started me down the path of hardy roses...Blanc Double de Coubert; I passed it at the garden nursery, and actually turned around to see where the amazing scent was emanating from. I was so disappointed to find it was not only a rose, but a white rose. If I was going to give in and buy a rose, it certainly wouldn't be a white one! But after I turned around 3x to sniff it again and again, I had to take it home. Then I saw an ad on Craigslist by a local grower for a hardy yellow rose. Those aren't easy to find here, so I reluctantly contacted him and ended up with Kilwinning. Last summer was the first summer I didn't contact him with, "what do you have for me this year." I just don't have room right now for more (although I intend to change that!). Oh, and I have rosa glauca, too. I love the leaf color. It seems to have reseeded this year...it will be interesting to see if the blooms are the same. Here is a link that might be useful: very hardy roses...See MoreHere's what I've been up to (pics)
Comments (12)Thanks for the comments everyone! Happy, yes the glass was a lot of work! Some of the pieces were so tiny that by the time I got them wrapped with copper foil you could barely see the glass so I would have to use an exacto knife and trim the copper. I'm happy with how it turned out though. Lynne, are you asking about the plants the butterflies are on? If so, the Gulf Frit is on pink penta "Starburst" and there are dune sunflowers in the background. The zebra longwing is on purple porterweed. ~Betsy...See MoreI've been busy - my new hobby!
Comments (31)nicole...email me and I can give you some tips. smcqueen72@comcast.net They'd be super cute arranged in a small flower pot, but you could save yourself some time and money if you just got a large pot and put all of them in one pot and just had people take one as a favor. Either way would be fine I think. You really don't even have to do much to the pop itself. Just use fun colors and some sprinkles. No need to actually make it look like a flower unless you want to get really creative. I think they make super cute party favors....See Moretropicalzone7
