What's with the ads???

Is anyone else having trouble with the site? All of a sudden there's a full page Oreo cookie ad that's overlying the whole thing. It's all but impossible to read anything through it, and if I try to click on anything at all, it opens up another new window of advertisement. What's up with that??

I don't know but it will stop me from posting if something isn't done. Mine don't pop up till I click on something then I have to close an Oreo ad each time I click. Jay

Can you adjust the pop up blocker setting on you computer ? Sometimes there is a low medium high setting .

I ended up buying some oriental lily bulbs at Costco. And some fall anemones. And 4 clematis. I don't know where the clematis will go but they are just tiny things now anyways and need to be grown along in pots for a while. Then I noticed Brent and Becky's bulbs had Buy one get one free sale! Two years ago I purchased lilies and dahlias during their spring sale and the plants were fabulous. Much plumper bulbs than the ones I just got at Costco. Do I really have room for more lilies though??? I have to protect them from deer. Oh yes and I received my Bluestone order from their sale. the cookies that come on sites will do that little trick, remember the terms mentioned in the text of the replies and will target those with specific ads has been an advertising tactic for some time now ~ targeted advertising In fact if you use firefox there is an add on that will block those. I was getting it too and I just changed my pop up blocker settings to high (block all pop-ups) and that seems to have fixed it. Annoying.

I have mine set as high as I can. It has blocked all pop ups everywhere till this. Not sure what change they have made. But will discourage many from posting.

i browse with firefox and have the add on "add block plus" no ad's anywhere.

Well either something worked or the site managers found a way to get rid of the Oreo monster. It started again this morning. How annoying! I turned my pop-up blocker off and then back on and now it seems to be working as it should.

Mk that is odd. I used Firefox with the add on ad blocker plus or whatever it is called also. I didn't have any problems till I logged in and started to post. Till then I could browse with no problems. Jay

I'm getting sick of it. I use Chrome as a browser and can't use any ad blockers. Those ad blockers (I've tried a few) completely suck down my bandwidth and put me over fair use. Then I'm without internet at all. So I'm stuck with the ads.

No problem here either. Haven't seen an Oreo....except for the package of cookies Tim threw into the shopping cart at the grocery store.

I just switched mine to "high", but perhaps I have to restart the computer for it to be effective.

I hate it when I scroll down to read the first post, the ad follows me, I scroll more, the ad folds to the top, and I have to scroll up to see the first post.

Thanks for discussing the "high" setting on the pop up blocker.

I'm using Safari for my Mac. I finally shut off the preferences and then restarted it and reset them. Whatever happened, it made the Oreos go away. For two days it was a nightmare. I couldn't scroll anyplace without getting a whole page of cookie ad, and couldn't read anything at all through it. What a drag!

I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus at home and work, I haven't seen any oreos!

I only had trouble when I tried around 4 am on the 18th till around 7 am. From that time on things have worked fine and I made no changes. So assumed the administrators of this site did. Jay
