Comments (15)I am removing two beds and shortening one bed. When we built our deck this past fall we had to find the survey markers and found that some of my beds were a few feet into our neighbor's yard. Next time I buy property I will insist on finding the survey markers rather than accepting the sellers' statement of where the boundaries lie. Most of the plants were removed last fall. Will remove the others and seed to grass so the new (only been here ten years) neighbors can add a fence for their dog. One bed was a holding bed which is not going to be replaced and another was for iris which have been incorporated into other beds. I added two new beds last summer and plants that don't find a place in them will be given away or sold....See MoreWhat are you adding this year?
Comments (2)Parrotslave.... Just be aware that columnar apple trees need to be pruned to keep their 'columnar' shape or they will start branching out like regular trees. I just hope they leave your apple trees alone. Until I got my back yard fenced, I had constant problems with kids--it wasn't that they were eating the apples, they'd pick them to throw at each other, into the neighbors yards, and break windows with... I have an area I am trying to discourage people walking their dogs from (it's not the 'walking' I have an issue with)... I've ordered four osage orange, I understand they should be pretty formidable (and thorny) in a few years. My new plants to try this year are Canna Lilies and Elephant Ears! I know I'll have to dig them up in the fall but I think I'll be more motivated to do so than I ever was with gladiolas... ~Michele...See MoreWhat New Roses Are You Adding This Year?
