If you've told lies on top of lies, on top of lies over a 6 year period, I would imagine your wife is beyond frustration, as you have clearly stated. All trust would definitely be lost over that period of time. You aren't responsible to her reactions, but if this is an ongoing issue, it's pretty much understandable even if it doesn't seem right. As popi suggested, you need counseling, whether your wife goes or not, whether you're headed for divorce or not. Until your wife gets it all out of her system, I'm not sure joint counseling would benefit you because she has alot of frustration and anger directed at you to get off her chest and a therapist might have a hard time not agreeing with her, putting you in the hot seat on every visit. Regardless, I doubt your marriage could ever improve without some outside intervention, and you definitely should not be putting up with any abuse, and nor should she! I could put another couples names in place of yours and your wife's and have the exact same story. His problem was gambling. In an 8 year period he admits to gambling away $20,000 so it's probably even more than that. But that couple has recovered, I guess, so there is hope for those in severe marital difficulty. Think long and hard on whether it's the right thing to be seeking custody of your children. If you can't handle your own finances, how can you take care of your children?

oh, you are sooooooo not alone in your struggle to keep your sanity.... my mom has been with my brother, an hour north of me, for going on 4 years...she needs more and more care, with each passing month.. he called me one day, to say..."are you ready to take mom now, it's your turn?"......... uh....well, no........I don't have it in me to do that kind of care..so where does that leave me? feeling guilty, that's where recently, his MIL died, so I had my mom for 4 days... that was what it took, to realize what I had been hearing from others...just what others are saying to you now. you need to preserve your health. it's one thing to feel like you need to do this and it's totally a different thing to have the strength to do it, day after day, after day, after month, on to years. you have hit the saturation point and one thing you really have to do, along with need to do, is to realize the FIL needs a higher level of care. he needs that..trained staff, his own surroundings for his needs. I'm grateful, along with all others here, that your DH is doing what has/needs to be done. you will recover your stamina and be back to where you were a while ago and for Heaven's sake...don't feel anything other than it's the best for all of you.. one of my kids, who used to not get along with my mom, when he was younger, because he didn't understand her deterioration health, is now working in an Alzheimer's care facility. Now, a dozen years later, he can see what it's all about...he is the one, who also encouraged me not to take on the responsibility of my mom. when staff is trained for the particulars of aging, in all forms, you have to let go and let them take over, where you leave off. please stay strong in knowing we all stand by you. this decision is difficult but the alternative is worse...you're health will go straight down hill. many prayers are coming your way... when you have those moments of unclarity..you need to know that even though you can't see us..we're right here, holding your hand. have peace now and take a deep breath. this will begin to level out soon. much love ;(*_*);

Right, so the co-owner called and said he wants to "make it right". Now, I'm not calling him back tonight because 1) it's after 5, and this isn't an emergency that can't wait until tomorrow , and 2) I need to think about what I think "makes it right". Not that I'll get it, but I wouldn't go into a phone call like that without knowing what that means to me. They do have some sort of guarantee that the sales guy showed me that said something about 3-day change of mind. There were several of those kinds of "we want you to be happy" guarantees, but I don't know what the loopholes are, and I'm sure there are some. Do I want 1) a refund that brings me down to what seems to be a "correct" price for this AC - which seems to be somewhere around $3500 (I paid $7000, which I thought was a good quote because it was in comparison to a heat pump quote for $7500), or do I want him to uninstall and get my money back. Again, I don't know if either of those two things will even be on the table, but for me, those would be my top two options. The only thing against the uninstall - I really did want a heat pump - would be taking yet more time off from work to be home for it. Another day for the uninstall, another one to get the other company to do the heat pump install. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd be grateful to hear them.

At one point, someone posted a BLOG that had links to Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife that could be streamed even when they were not on the PBS site. I thought I had it book marked, but I cannot find it now :( They had episodes, I think, even that had not aired in the US yet. Does anyone remember what that was? It was a not a blog you would have thought would have had the streaming video links (i.e. it wasn't like a TV Blog).
