Finally!!!

I think I have finally figured out how to grow fescue in OKLAHOMA!! Yea!! This is the third season on seeding my back yard with fescue. The first two years were ruined by brown patch which destroyed my yard by mid-May.

This year I seeded with two varieties which tested well with brown patch resistance for our region and have been applying Heritage G every 3-4 weeks since the beginning of April. Combined with a different watering and mowing regimen, I think I may have finally got it down! There are still a couple of things I will change next year but I'm pretty pleased considering many people told me "you can't grow fescue in the shade in Oklahoma - just plant a groundcover." I guess hard-headedness sometimes pays off! :)

I posted a link to show you how beautiful it is this year - hope it works!
