foxtail palms
Comments (20)Hey all!! I'm pretty new around here, usually just a reader. I'm not sure if this is still a current thread but decided to post anyway. I have a couple foxtails literally in full sun (morning and afternoon) all summer and the did great!!! A little burning on the tips but barely!! They put out about 3 new fronds over the summer. Also they made it through this horrible recent freeze too!! Got down to 17 degrees in the backyard (just east of queen creek). They were of course wrapped in Christmas lights and a couple sheets but one made it out literally untouched the other has a little brown on the tip. But the new fronds coming up on both are perfect!! Hope this helps anyone!!! :)...See MoreMy new Royal Palm Pics!!! (Jacksonville, FL)
Comments (23)garyiryna, as you know, i live In jacksonville, were these palms are really not exsistent. I bought this Royal near west palm beach this past April. the dead leaves you see are the ones that were on there when i bought the tree. That pic was taken months ago. i have new fonds on there now, but the same ones are still one there. we will see how this palm survives this winter up here. i will have it covered for sure. we will see if it lives...See MoreMy new coconut palm tree....Jacksonville, FL!!!
Comments (17)jaxboro,,, I actually got it off ebay. Im pretty sure they are still being sold (only got it for about 4 or 5 dollars w/o including shipping). If you want to know the sellers name I can tell you. I hope your palm gets some growth soon. As long as its condition begins to improve, there is lots of hope. Im sure by now the weather is getting pretty warm down there so I guess if any new growth is coming, it will be soon. I wish you luck!...See MoreFoxtail palm issue
Comments (4)It might still be stressed. Hopefully when summer really kicks in, iy will start to grow. Palms are surprising plants and as long as they have some sign of life, they can really come back after seeming dead. At least some of the Foxtails will make it, and hopefully it will be a while before a winter like the last hits Florida. Good luck!...See Morejason_2010
