There's a Blue Jay in there too, at the very end. I'm not sure if that's an adult male or female Baltimore Oriole at the grape jelly. The females are really variable and sometimes similar to the males. It seems too early in the season for it to be an immature male. Maybe some of the more knowledgeable birders here will comment. I also wonder about the oriole in the gooseberries. Is that an adult female or a fledgling? Identification is so much easier when an adult male has the brilliant contrasting plumage with solid black. They are pretty birds. You should offer grape jelly for them so they don't have to try not to get caught in your netting while trying to get the grapes. I put grape jelly in dishes on the deck and they are here daily. This year they even found my live mealworms in the feeder that I have for bluebirds and pigged out on them big time. I have had up to twelve Oriole fledglings up on the deck at one time eating the jelly. I got lots of pics and a video of the fledglings while they search the plants for bugs and visit the feeders. They are fun birds to watch...mine are not so elusive we can sit out on the deck and they still come up and eat. Donna

Interesting, tom. When I was a kid growing up in Miami orioles were common, but now that I think about it I rarely see them anymore. Don't think I've ever seen one here on Hutchinson Island where I've lived for 18 years, but then I've never seen a hummer here, either.
