Winter watering evergreens

Here in cold zone 5, I never give much thought to winter watering of evergreens, with early ground freezing and typical snow cover and early hose draining. But with this mild season so far, I was thinking maybe I ought to give some of them a late drink... maybe tomorrow when it is suppposed to be almost spring like weather.

Earlier this month the ground was frozen, at least in spots, but I wouldn't be surprised if it no longer is.

Anyone else thinking similar?

I'm mostly thinking of newer plantings that have only been in 1-3 years.

Gee, between watering and winter pruning, I could have a busy gardening day . That is unheard of here for mid-December. Last weekend I was out doing yardwork with Christmas music on the radio. A very odd occurrence!!!
