I thought I should do a follow up on Faraway Flowers. Just got my order yesterday and I was particularly pleased not only with the quality of bulbs, but also the size. The shipping was delayed because of inclement weather, and as a customer I was notified promptly. I ordered each of the Japanese (OT) Hybrids from them and they were enormous bulbs. 24 cm as advertised. I also received a couple of the double orientals and was particularly pleased at the quality (compared to the gift I was given for Christmas from Dutch Gardens of the double oriental mix, which two of them came soft and compost-worthy :(). The roots from Dutch Gardens, came, as per usual, shriveled up. The ones from Faraway Flowers had active root systems, as if they were just dug and sent the day before. I was pleasantly surprised (and I love that). For those of you familiar with Buggy Crazy, that was the size of bulbs these Japanese Hybrids were. I was very impressed with this company and hope to shower you all with fabulous photos this summer of my great finds from my favorite lily growers and vendors. It's almost time for the show to begin...

It took a year for me to decide to make a website just for Gary. I first made a site of photos of my flowers and it grew. Then I made another using old family photos that my nephew had scanned, just to entertain family members. It was simply busy work to get through the first anniversary and to learn just how everything worked. Then I finally made the 'real' website. I deliberately chose not to use last names or a lot of personal information. The peculiar thing is, I didn't show any of it to DH until a month after it was finished. I've noticed that on my server, looking over the websites of others, that many people start a website and then either lose interest or forget how to go back. Be sure to write down any URL for the site and ALL passwords. A little prompt or two on what you're doing might be a good thing to write down, too. The good thing about the websites that have 'templates' is that you can easily delete and add at will if you change your mind. An easy way to start is to decide on a title for the page or pages, then write out a little text. Choose a couple of photos and get going!

I've been so inspired that yesterday when Klinger came to take me thrift storing, all I bout was stuff for organizing!lol! And just as I was coming in the door back from treasure(mushy, but Klinger is the treasure!) hunting, I got a phone call from a glass store where I missed their annual sale, and they have the stabilizer and mega blade I want for my taurus, so I ordered it over the phone and they will sent it to me on monday!!! Yippeee!!! Now only if my saw wasn't out in the shed!!! BTW: I have taken some steps on my healing leg!!! Hurts like a bugger but I gotta get back in shape for those mexico streets!!!!
