I hosted a swap last year and want to do it again. Sorry to be so late in organizing it, but decided what the heck and go for it anyway. Last year the swap was very casual. We just had everyone put their stuff in the front yard in a circle and people just wandered around talking about stuff and taking what was available.

If you would like to come send at email to lisa at zoompuppy dot com and I'll send you the address. I'll have basic snacks and drinks, but feel free to bring something for the food table if you wish.

Casual is good! Once the rain stops tomorrow I'll have a few ideas...
But does any one want seeds? I have a little seed buying problem..
None are fancy..but I am changing some directions and need to home the old seeds before I bring in the new ones that better match my plans

Am hoping to make it. I'm starting a new garden (this is year 4) and don't have a lot of extras, but will not come empty-handed.

I will have a few different daylilies to share - off-white, red and peachy. And any number of H. 'Happy Returns,' if anyone is interested in them.

Could also bring some Aconitum napellus and Shasta daisies.

I'd love to try Lisa's Artemisia. I haven't had good luck with my beloved 'Silver Mound' but maybe 'Silver Brocade' will do better for me.

No plants for sale. It's a free plant swap. If you have garden supplies, books or anything garden related you can swap that stuff. At the moment those who have said they are coming 50% of them have no plants, but they have garden related items. I don't know how many plants we are going to end up with, at the moment it isn't looking like too very many.

I have a few more items worth listing Ipomoea coccinea or scarlet morning glory. A favorite of hummingbirds and listed as a native on the IFAS publication at the link below. Warning is does reseed readily if seeds not removed. Dies back in summer. New plants pop up in Fall. Also I have several white containers some glazed some not. I think we're going to need at least 2 threads, including one for what people are bringing or looking for. If nobody objects, though, can we keep both on the 'discussion' side, and not bother with the 'exchange' side? There's really no advantage to using the exchanges for an event like this, it's meant for individuals to post plants they're going to share as individuals. Our posts about what we're planning to bring will be more of a discussion, like any other discussion, with the occasional summary that someone or another may spontaneously write up.

Blake Taylor, I'll have some yellow daylily ready for you. mmqchdygg I'd love some of your bee balm if you have neough. I've actually seen so many things from everybody that start the salivating, but I'll just have to try to get more for me swap next year! Does anybody want hosta? I have two kinds. One kind is planted around the entire perimeter of my house, and each plant can easily be divided into four sections. I divided one into three at the beginning of the year, and each section now looks as big as the original. They would be the standard hosta with kelly green leaves that are about 6" long. The second kind has variegated smaller leaves which are more slender and pointier. Right now they are getting a lot of sun and are small. I have no idea how old they are, so I don't know if they are a smaller variety or are stressed by the sunlight so are not growing. They really need to be relocated but I don't have a place for them now, and I'm not the biggest hosta fan. It would be smarter to give them to somebody who needs them! I also have a big sedum patch, if anybody needs some. If I remember correctly, I think it's standard Autumn Joy. I should know by the swap what it is.

Hi Lisa, Sorry to say that I won't be able to make it that day. I was hoping to go too. Oh well, there's always next spring! I'm sure you wiil all have a great time.

Now that Edison's 4th bday party is over, 15 kids on a pirate cruise, I can get back to the forum. Bumping this up. Just so everyone knows, I have plenty to give away, so even if you have nothing to swap, but want a few Black-eyed Susans or other things, please come. I have a few local gardening friends whom I'll invite though they aren't on this forum, so that will boost the numbers up a bit.

Look forward to meeting some new gardening friends!

I am expecting a house full of guests this weekend but if I can sneak away and manage to get last minute reservations on Sunday what time were you planning for the swap? I have a very sweet Black Eyed Susan that must have come from Cloud9 that is a must have and I will be sure to bring along with some other goodies. Katy

My plan is to start at 10am, but there are few enough of us that we could juggle the time if we needed too. Also, would folks rather do it on Saturday the 26th? I just found out Katsura is closed on Sundays. Last year we went to Katsura after the swap, and could only do that again if we met on Saturday. I'll keep it as is, unless I hear some voices. Let me know!

I'm so sorry, but the weather is supposed to be miserable tomorrow, plus I've had a few cancellations which brings our number down to 3! I wanted to post to make sure anyone who was planning to swing by knows, but I think I contacted everyone who contacted me via email.

Thanks for those who tried to help me pull this together. I promise to be better at organizing early the next swap. If anyone wants to come by for any of the plants I have let me know.

luckyladyslipper - I have plenty of the Artemesia and I love it. If you want to meet a different day, I'd love to trade some for a peachy daylily.
