free plants in Lexington

If you are willing to dig them up, I have to give away:

6 peonies:

3 Sarah Bernhardt;

3 double whites, supposedly Festiva Maxima, but there are no red streaks.

I have several Euportuium: tall *(7-8 feet) Joe Pye Weed

I'm going to look up about dividing grasses. If fall is OK, then if the taker wil dig up some huge clumps, you can have a big hunk and I'll keep a hunk. There is "Heavy Metal" and some othr switch grass. (name var. but I can't remember it!)

some astermoeia mongolica

red bee balm

There may be other stuff but I don't remember at this minute.

I don't want anything in trade. however, if you were willing to contribute 45 minutes to helping me transplant some shallow perenials, that would be great!

Most of them shouldn't be too hard to transplant, but good luck with the Eupatorium (Joe pye weed). I had some that I wanted to transplant, but after the struggle it took to get the smallest one out of the ground, I ended up deciding regretfully to do in the others, and have been removing stems & greenery all season to kill them. It might be easier to save seed and replant, since they readily grow from seed.

I haven't been able to check out the forum in a bit. Are you still giving your peonies and bee balm? I would be more than happy to send my DH over to dig them up, he works in Burlington. Please let me know and can I give you a hosta? I have tons of those!

I'm still holding out for the local Agway to go over 75% off. They just went 30 this week. I'm optimistic this year because the weather hasn't changed yet, so (my logic says) that people wouldn't have planted bulbs in this warm weather. And...people will be too busy next weekend thinking about TG and B-Friday shopping that they won't even consider buying bulbs...course, then they'll look at the calendar after the weekend and say "Oh, it's too late now, anyway" which means they're all mine!!! MUHAHAHHAHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I still have to work. 8-4 :^((( Ida, could I drop off a few things if people want them and maybe stop by at 4:30 or 5 to see if there is anything left, or to help clean up? Would anyone be bringing any grass clumps? I am looking for something in the 5-8 foot range (plumbs too if you got). I see some people are bringing Sweet Woodruff, Bee Balm and Comfrey....ohhh :^O If there is anyone that would like something on my trade list, I could drop it off before the meeting for you with your name on it. Seasons Four, on MASS Ave between Lexington and Arlington is having a 20% sale on all perennials, trees, shrubs, statuary and fountains. It goes till Friday. These are healthy, well cared plants, not end of the season dry-ups. Good variety left, too. Since their prices are at least 10% less than Mahoneys, this 20% is a good value. Marie

Hi, I got the names mixed up.Thanks to "daffodil" and his partner Polly who did the pick up. A freecycler did not come and pick up a huge hydrangea "Nigra". I got it to bloom once, then continually messed up the pruning schedule or it's fall -set flower buds have been continually winter killed. If you have the patience to baby it, come and get it.

You just know that I will gladly rescue any plants that I can, especially PEONIES!!! You are absolutely right, it is an extremly generous offer, I can only hope that I can be just as generous in return.

Yes, I will be sending the DH. How have you been? This reminds me to call the Countryman's again, I still haven't been able to get in touch with Chris. Wish me luck!
