I'm with you; I just haven't figured out how to put in requests successfully to Mother Nature. Maybe we all should chip in and get her a hearing aid :) But then again I do suspect she knows what she's doing in the whole bigger scheme of things.

I was just looking at the weather on wunderground.com (fabulous up to the minute site for tracking the weather; which a storm chaser informed me about). My husband is off tomorrow and Friday. He was so happy about the forecast a couple of days ago stating that it would be in the 60's and sunny. I hate to tell him, when he gets home tonight, that the weather is not going to cooperate with his time off :-). I have been checking the blossoms on our fruit trees too, they are still pretty tight. Do you think I should cut the Daffodils that are blooming and bring them indoors to enjoy? I am worried that the cold weather will harm the open (or soon to be open) blooms? My mother-in-law is completely disabled from MS and I am sure she will enjoy a bouquet of Daffodils mixed with a couple branches of Quince. They are so pretty and I would hate to see them wilt from the cold weather.

Mother Nature may know what she is doing, but she keeps me confused some weeks.

I have had daffodils just absolutely buried in snow and come through it looking fine. Sometimes, though, and I think this ocurs most often when we drop from very warm to very cold very suddenly......they will droop a little and look bad for a day or so, but they then perk right back up.

Still, since your MIL is completely disabled from MS (and I am so sorry to hear that), it would be so sweet of you to take her a bouquet of daffodils and Flowering Quince. I am sure she'd enjoy having a bit of spring brought inside. (Maybe tomorrow you could bring her a snowball?)

Thanks for the tip on wunderground.com....I'll check it out. I hate that your hubby's days off are going to be ruined. But, hey, this is March in Oklahoma, and if it wasn't snow, sleet or rain ruining his days off, then it probably would be tornadoes, hail or flooding, right? And, yes, sometimes we get them all in the same week, don't we?

I've been a wunderground member for a few years now. Members get access to a very nice long radar loop which I love. They also tend to be closer than all the other sites to our actual highs and lows here during the year.

I am so ready for spring. Plums started blooming yesterday.

I'm ready for spring too. Yesterday felt and looked like spring, but I couldn't enjoy it as much as I normally would have, knowing that the snow was supposed to arrive today.

I just finished looking at the NWS Norman office's Enhanced Weather forecast webpages and do see one possible form of spring weather that I forgot to mention: thundersnow! I'd never experienced thundersnow until we moved here, but it seems we get it here once or twice every two or three years. And, for whatever reason, when the conditions are right for thundersnow, it seems we always get a significantly higher amount of snow than we do during a regular snow storm.

My plums are in full bloom and the peaches are just on the verge. I thought for sure the first peach bloom would open Tuesday or Wednesday, but I guess it somehow "knew" the cold was coming and kept those blooms closed.
