I love your pictures, very peaceful settings, beautiful fall color. That is viburnum trilobum and caryopteris, right? I am still coming with idea how to pair viburnums to have best fruit production. Have several viburnums and only one that gives excellent berries is Cardinal Candy. I have one caryopteris, it is blooming right now- beauty, even that is iffy in our zone at times.

Thanks guys for all your kind words and support this year,you have all made my gardening so much more fun.Being that i live in the middle of the woods, i don't get a lot of sun,this paticular spot gets a lot of sun, so i thought the bushes would add a little color,which i need very badly.

Sounds like a blast Carol! And I know what you mean about everyone being a help here. Just about every night I tell my husband about somebodys post and try to explain everyones personalities and gardens. Im sure hes not listening all the time but its fun to talk about everybody anyway.

Love, love caryopteris and all viburnums. For fall color I just bought a big Diane witch hazel, which I found at a nursery not close by & have yet to get home - won't fit in car, for sure. Other great shrubs for fall - itea and fothergilla. This is the BEST time for buying shrubs - fall color immediately apparent!

For all of you who want to visit Carol, I only live about 50 miles from her and 70 miles from Carole (Westy). What a blast that would be if we really could visit everyones gardens.

I have not forgotton our date,but like i said,don't expect much,i am no landscaper,and weeds do not bother me,unless they are taller than me,so you will see weeds for sure.I suppose if i had a cazillion dollors,i could hire someone to weed for me,no one would want the job unless it paid that much, to many weeds,lol

I am in Illinois,about 1 hour south west of Chicago.

The turkey are fun to look at, but they are a menace like Renie said,they can rip out a hosta in seconds flat,like the deer around here,you just can't keep them at bay,no matter what you try.BECAUSE,we have people out this way that feed them!,so, they are not affraid of people any more.Turkey don't even run any more.Ya just gotta find a way to live in harmony.

Im coming that way for a graduation in chgo next year! I dont know yet if its May or June, Im hoping June because May would be too soon for anything growing. Ill probably be staying in New Berlin (wi) the weekend of, is anyone in that area?

We drive past New Berline every time we go up north to visit daughter.I have heard there is a great nursery there that sells really nice hosta,i have always wanted to go, but have just never taken the time to find out where it is at,maybe some one here will know.

You will be about 1 1/2 hours from me if you stay in N.B.

Carol,my friend is graduating from....(brain fart) UGH! I cant remember the name of the college. Its Illinois churchy something maybe??? Its on Foster Ave. in chgo. right around where I grew up.
And Ill for sure get the name of the nursery. Her parents live in N.B. so Im going to be going there too.
